Why the delay in getting back to the office? Who isn't going out to eat, shopping, entertainment events, etc.? Those who wanted the vaccine have it and those who did not, do not. Let's just move on and get this over with. It's not like the common rabble will be able to rationally present reasons to the oligarchy to dissuade the move back to the office and then subsequent hub strategy.

People are entitled to their own opinions. Those who want to return should return. Those who want to stay WFH should have that option. There is no reason to force people back. I suspect the vast majority would choose WFH or some sort of hybrid model. That would allow the company to offload a ton of real estate as well as make them more competitive it attracting talent. Tech companies have been winning the talent war for a long time as they offer a better work/life balance (and generally better compensation as well). WF and the rest of these antiquated dinosaurs need to adapt or die.
Only lazy, sloppy, dirty, gross, and socially awkward people want to wfh all the time. They can’t even look at people in the eyes and can’t even manage to say hi or acknowledge others when they pass them in the hallways
Absolutely agree. Let's accelerate going back to the office and all the other initiatives. Rip the band aid off...
Hey @rue+1bin3W6d; OP here. The point of my post is why let this clown show drag on any longer. I am not a proponent of the forced return to the office or the hub strategy. However, since it is going to happen why postpone it? I say rip the scab off and get on with it.
The productivity drop and losing of key staff will be felt by the senior management team.
I don't want to go back in to the office because I hate when my train of thought is disrupted. Too many take liberty swinging by to chit chat. Then I have to spend 10-15 minutes to get back to were I left off.
I can ignore Skype messages or respond briefly and get back to work, not have 20 minutes wasted over what someone did over the weekend.

The finance industry has been the loudest voice among corporations trying to get employees back in to the office. That is because they are outdated industries, with outdated systems, run by overpaid dinosaurs. It is to their benefit to keep the hierarchy in tact.
I just read an article stating:
The more generalised opposition to remote working stems from “old-school” perspectives from “older, greyer, C-suite executives”, according to Kate Lister, president of Global Workplace Analytics (GWA), a research and consulting firm focused on the future of work. “They have a mentality of ‘butts in seats’.”
Wells Fargo is outdated in every facet, so it’s no surprise that the execs need us to come back in so they can justify their existence.

You have a very simple and outdated POV, so you should probably go back in.
If my team were, you know, actually in the same CO office as me, I'd totally go back in. My manager is in Seattle, one teammate is in NC, and the other teammate is in TX. One of my dotted lines is in VA, and the other is in NC. Now, does going back into the office make any sense at all for me?
Most prefer wfh because it’s easier to not work at all

You sound like you don't know very many people. I know people that like working in an office, and are neither of those things. I'm on team WFH myself, but, surprise-surprise, people have differing opinions / preferences.

The only people I know who “can’t wait to get back to the office” are glad-handers and brown- noses. I don’t need Daddy looking over my shoulder to do a good job for the company.

Agree with OP. At least give people the option to go in and use their old desk (if it’s still there) or a flex desk.
