Individual Compensation Needs to Come back

Im averaging about 4 callouts per week.

There is no incentive to come in, pick up a shift, or work harder with this garbage team compensations. It needs to change and RIS needs to be paid at the individual level for reps.

Was staffing ever an issue with the old model!? NO! Now I cant even run a store correctly to manager this 1.5 hour wait because I have 3 reps working all day. One of my top reps finally quit, dude made Presidents Cabinet multiple times, got shafted on multiple interviews bc the position was given to someone that had been laid off. His last words to me, " Why would I produce the same level of work that got me to a 6-figures for the year when doing the same level of work means I finish at 63K for the year. I bet if any of these executives were told 'hey we need you to do the same level of work for a 30% reduction in pay' they would all walk out".

Someone needs to wake the fu-k up and start paying for real performance again.

its ridiculous and sad… im an 8 year rep and love my people were like a family, probably why i deal with the bull💩 understaffed store and reduced pay. i feel like corporate stores are going down and replaced by retailers entirely but could be wrong but all i know is team comm is a joke and there really is no incentive to even try anymore. i try hard enough to stay off reports and not get coached or whatever its called these days but overall its a cr-p way of doing things and most higher end reps are pi---d, you use to actually be able to make money there. what keeps me there? the job is easy, benefits and vacation package and when were not busy we all have a good time with each other and thats hard to leave. ive worked other jobs before even though i make less im open to suggestions but i also am not in a hurry either. ill let it ride until severance if thats the case 🤷🏻‍♀️

Team comp only exsists in the corporate owned stores. Great point was made that two thirds of all retail locations are resellers and they are still on individual commission plans. So basically two out of every three retail stores out there is not on 2.0. The stores all look the same so pay the same. Stop confusing the customers.

where did you pull that from? everyone is on team compensation. and the only reason you would be taking more money home now is if your a terrible sales rep. hitting quota was easy, at least this way the stragglers can still straggle and people wanting to make money have a chance of making a real living wage. probaly gonna take the tmobile position with one of my old colleagues. hes pulling 4k doing the bare minimum, would be nice to have more control over my check, i just wish i could get that back here.

I agree but would it actually be better? We have 6 reps in our store and 5 make the same if not more then before we went team commish. If we went back to indiviual quota don’t you think they would jack it up ? Also dont forget at risk went down so overall you will make less commision then old structure. How about they pay those of us who may stay on a little better hourly to prevent us from leaving ? Something has to give and it certainly aint gonna be me. 100% accurate statement. Nobody wants to stay later work OT or go that extra mile because it makes zero difference. Make it mean something or continue to get worse. BTW keep in mind that 2/3 Verizon retail locations are still on individual commission. 2.0 is only implemented in 33% of stores. So whats the point ?

I wouldn't mind it to be honest. My store has legit sales coming in. We average a 40 min wait time. Working 3 reps and 2 managers per day. Maybe if we had individual comission we wouldn't have so many callouts, gives reps more control over their compensation and encourages them to show up.

It's only gonna get worse since we don't pay more than others in retail now. Jobs making what we do now are a dime a dozen and they don't have to deal with Verizon managers and customers yelling at them for stuff they can't control.

Same thing in our district. Managers hiring back their friends in MO. Loyal high performers missing out. The only reason some stayed to try and become managers. Alot of who you know now. Didn't used to be like this here.

Highly doubt the company is going back to individual comission, it only benefits the company by saving huge amounts of payouts for the same pay, think about it as a business owner would you want to pay 1000 reps $4,000 a month, or pay 1000 stores $800 a month ? Verizon is saving a HUGE amount of money on not paying reps individual comission, so they can re invest on their “superior” 5G network . Sad to say this but things will just get worst, and they don’t care retail is their last place they want to spend money on .

I agree with your sentiment. Indirect transitions are coming and they’re thinning out the damage with the current setup. Don’t wait til the ship sinks if you’re this unhappy. It’s only getting worse from here on out chief. They won’t tell you what’s coming, but their actions are loud and clear.

Nah, it doesn't. Verizon already shot themselves in the foot by slamming trash for years. Trash slamming was a direct product of individual commission. Now the stores are miserable and only boomer terds dare enter. Who knows someone that goes to cell phone stores? Not me, not no one.
