Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

About to be July and the culture survey is rotting in the ground.

I wonder how much they spent on the culture survey? It is now very obvious that it painted a very different picture than they were expecting. Not a peep about it. They have buried it deep to never be revealed. I would hope at some point someone with the data will leak the info.
We all know what it revealed.

  1. That we have no leadership.
  2. Our leadership is gutless and without any ingenuity.
  3. They have no care about the company, but only themselves.

How we continue to have town halls and such with AVP's, VP's, and on up cheering us on and touting our "progress." What progress? We (at least in my world) are more behind than ever. We are working shorthanded due to losses in headcount. The new programs and tools being pushed out that are barely usable and causing major process issues, all while we are being told to "be agile." Agile now means BOHICA. Seriously.

I don't mind coming to the office. I don't feel it is beneficial, but I did it for years before. But, being told it's because of collaboration is a load of cr-p. Just tell me to come in and that is the rule. Don't sugarcoat it with some stupid reason that we all know isn't needed. Most of us work in locations with no team members. Therefore, collaboration is still happening on a teams call.

I know I can leave if I don't like it. So can you. But the point is most of us are "invested" in this company. Years and years of pouring ourselves into a career which many of us thought we would retire from. It is disheartening. Sad really. The executives do not care about you. No matter how much fluff they spout, they don't. Just remember that each day. Do your work, do it with pride. But know, they don't care. No more extra to give.

The best financial move is to get rid of the leadership that created this disaster. Start over with a new team. Continuing to punish the lower ranks has caused all time low morale and lethargy. Nobody believes or has any confidence in leadership anymore.

This was not for 'us' it was from McKinsey & Company - they are not for employees, they help companies decide on financial moves (hint) and such.

I'm sorry that you guys can't handle the truth

To do a culture survey you have to have culture first, then you do the survey. T has no culture so what do you expect?

We were told directly from our org’s HR partner on an all manager town hall this week that the results of the culture survey will not be shared. They are being evaluated at the executive level and they will help guide direction going forward.

In other words the results were horrible and are being buried. Nobody outside the c-suite will ever see them. Unfortunate but not unexpected. We all know how this leadership team operates.

It’s a made up false survey, you know it’s made up but you cling to caring about it?

What is this survey you continually complain about? Things have been a Schitt salad for decades here in the Union Slug farm. Do you think you are something special?

It was shared in a prior Townes town hall the culture survey results would be forth coming.

However, we ALL know the results were SO BAD, they will never see the light of day!

“ Nor were the results promised to you“

Wrong.

I will concede that some here are confusing the regular eNPS survey with the McKinsey survey.

That said, they absolutely said they would release results from the McKinsey survey and they have not. On my regular calls with L3 and L4, they are flummoxed and cannot explain why. They were saying for a while that they would be coming but have now stopped saying that.

What kind of weird boot locker are you that you’re trying to provide cover for executive leadership on this?

its funny how people latch on to things here.

Leggs email about the McKinsey survey said this does not replace the annual employee survey. read your email.

You keep posting thinking it WAS the employee survey. it wasn't
Nor were the results promised to you.

“The company measures employee engagement like every other company. Clicks and likes. Stop opening News Now attachments, stop commenting on Insider, stop volunteering to act like you care more than AT&T obviously does. Or keep doing what you have been doing because that’s been work!”

I already don’t do any of that d-mb sh-t. That’s all HR fluff nonsense that isn’t reflective of the truth of the company.
It’s sh-t put together in focus groups by teams tasked with raising morale and company culture, it’s pointless and an effort to divert attention to true problems and actual work.

The participation rate for all future surveys should be in the gutter.

If you only want to hear us when it’s good news we will just have to stop communicating because you have proven it is just a waste of our time.

#youmatter, but only when you are kissing our butts.

“I’m done with this company. Glad to be laid off. I was waiting for that moment. I will leave with severance. Last 6 yrs I have been miserable here. Lack of meaningful work, no opportunity to move and overall feeling that I waste my time. But I made it. My Director is lame, coworkers lazy w/o skills but they are moving to Dallas. They are the future of this company. And I know for sure that there are thousands more like them here. With that, I’m predicting that once dust settles everything will be same as before except number of employees.”

It’s going to be so much worse, all the competent employees carrying the id--ts will be gone.

If you think this company has any investment in you or your colleagues you are sadly mistaken. You are a number to them and a liability to them and as soon as they can drop you they will.

“Leadership really needs to wait until the beginning of 2026 to run additional surveys. The employee landscape is changing to much that any previous responses are no longer accurate”

The company should wait to run a survey till after you are gone since your responses are not accurate.

They fired many of us a few days ago. What would you like us to change about the company? If you want to protect your invested time, you should go complain to Stankey, not to us. This is the choir you are preaching to here.
