Mid Year Rankings

The consensus seems to be that mid years will include rankings. Do we anticipate this information being shared with the employee or will this be for management use only?

I have no problems with ratings. I would have a problem though if the rumored 20% rated 1 or 2 like GM did in the old days was what they were pushing. If you want to fire me (i.e., lay me off), be a man and do it the normal way.

If done properly, ratings can be great. Too often, we all get lumped together as average/above average, and nothing is done to acknowledge the dead weight. Unfortunately the same nonsense will apply to the rankings, favoring those you like personally, feel sorry for, etc...

@irv You are only considered "too new to rate" if you have been in your role less than 3 months.

I'm in EIT. Our manager whose been with the bank for 20 plus years just told use we will be rated by end of the month. I would say he's been told to rank us as well. Why, because this guy is now going out of his way to be nice when he was never like this before. Almost like he wants to make up for what's about to happen now so we all don't freak out when we get canned. But if you truly work for WF, this reduction has been planned/going on for a few years now, so it's nothing new. But with covid, the amount of money the bank has been fined and is now losing, well this should not be a surprise to anyone. It just s—s that it's happening now, because finding a job will not be easy right now.
Not sure how a rating turns into a ranking, or how its computed??

I am copying and saving all of this forced ranking information so that if I am fired due to it I can present it to the unemployment agency and claim unemployment based on unfair grounds for firing.
Showing former good reviews a well. Yep, I have a copy from all of the Wells Fargo Layoff 2020 blogs that mention the forced ranking. (Repeat got these blogs saved as well.)

So I don’t have a rating in the system yet, nor do I have an official meeting with my manager to talk about it, but my manager appears to have left good and positive comments on there. But now I’m wondering if, since I’ve only been with WF since December, the second newest on my team, if I’ll be a part of the chopping block?

This stacking exercise is unexcusable.

If it were done with no other goal than to a accurately document the performance of staff, then fine.

But it's not. I'm being forced to place 20% of my team in 1s and 2s, when none of them are at that level. And I know they will be let go for cause as a result.

(Don't get me wrong, I know what a 1 and 2 looks like – have managed many before).

Blatant favoritism is leading to these rankings by my peers... they have nothing to do with performance.

I wish there were a class action lawsuit brought about in reaction to this widespread injustice.

Fire people honestly and transparently. Doing it corruptly to save a buck is evil.

New hires will likely be rated 3

Do new hires get rated? I'm not sure how anyone who's spent three months or less on the job can be meaningfully rated.

Ratings will be shared with the employee. I had my mid-year review a couple of weeks ago, but had an update to it today to add the ratings. So, it is occurring. Rankings, however, will not be shared with the employee. Though, you should have some idea based on your ratings.

yes, we are now being required to provide ratings for mid-year. As well as being forced to rate 20% of employees low just to satisfy Charlie's curve. All I'm sure in an attempt to force employees out to get to his goal expense ratios.

I'm in ER.

You will get a rating and will be ranked/stacked.

Your manager should tell you the rating, but you can always see it in the CPD tool.

Thats funny, because i asked my manager specifically about rankings and he confirmed it.

I point blank asked my manager about rankings and he denied it. Also mentioned there were certain metrics that had just been dropped on him this am. So was not provided a rating of any sort yet.

the mid year rating will be added to the CP&D system, so yes- you'll know how you are rated. Managers have until 7/31 to update the system

@OP+162A0H2L Same. Outside of mass email reminders, it’s been radio silence at departmental level.

Do the employees get to rate their manager and management?! They should. Based on the sentiments on here, they would get a 1 or minus 1. Morale is rock bottom. And nobody gives a c-ap.

Ratings shared with employee. Rankings are not.
