cant believe they create a rolling blackout during the day; they should know how to schedule after hours only, if they don't they need to be canned
@1cgw+198urE72, the IT dept is incompetent and have no idea what they are doing; they need to get qualified workers there too
It has indeed been bad the last two days.
The pushes shoukd be coded to happen on start up or end of day at shut down. I was in an important neeting today and was forced to shut down and reboot, a ten minute process that forces me to lift the lod on the laptop, enter creds tgen continue on
@ily+198urE72 The geniuses at Microsoft all retired in in 1989.
After that it was Balmer and Dumbner...learn history
@ily+198urE72, ding dong, thats why you have redundancy!
The geniuses at Microsoft need to develop a patch that does not require a reboot. Our servers are bounced every dam week, which causes an outage for our customers. We do have some 24x7 applications like the one I support.
there will be a new policy, any IT associate that does these updates during the business day, we will calculate what they cost the company each day and will be subtracted from their pay

in most cases a few days before a required software update is pushed there is a software center icon in your system tray letting you know. if you click on that icon you can see what updates are being installed as well as the date and time they will be installed inform your. at that point you can chose to initiate the install yourself or whenever is convenient for you up until that date. now some installs won't give you notice but the majority do
@fkd+198urE72 eventually it'll be a call to fire everyone who doesn't sell something since salespeople are the only ones making money.

This Forum: layoffs are the worst thing in human history. Unacceptable, fire the CEO!
Also This Forum: (insert group here) s—s, they should fire them all!
So far this week there's been calls to fire everyone in HR, everyone in IT, and everyone in management. probably others I have missed, but as a group we seem very conflicted on whether or not firing people is good or bad.
I had to restart !y computer 4 times this morning for updates, it's ridiculous!
they probably just dont know what they are doing; dont think they are smart enough for that
My laptop blue screens 3-4 times a week lately
Not sure what these it folk are putting on our machines. I guess it is a lot of “big brother is watching you” type of software
I'm in IT and can confirm, there's a lot of id–ts here.
But to be fair, it's really management that's the issue here, and the nonstop changes.
you have the id–ts in IT department who have no idea what they are doing; same thing when that data center went down and the main well site was down; IT dept is a joke, I would replace all of those id–ts
I've already had 2 this morning on top of computer problems which wasted half the morning.
