Apparently the company has decided that as of 12/22 if you are currently considered "remote" but live even anywhere close to a metro area where a VZ Hub is that you are now hybrid and need to go into the office 2x a week. For many since the call centers have been closed, that will mean commuting to the office potentially more than an hour each way 2x a week. I really wish they would bite the bullet here and offer relo and/or VSP to those not close enough to a hub to commute and just be done with this mess.

If you are Remote Worker (5 days) or WFH (3 or 4 days a week) and your work address is your home and RTO (for the remainder) to an assigned building, I would put in RT mileage on the RTO days.
RTO 5 days a week is planned for 3Q25. The employee will have a choice of RTO or leave VZ with 3 months pay. There's a new sheriff in town!
RTO debacle? What debacle? Almost everyone signed on here to report to & work in an office 5 days a week. Now you can play on your phones and shop all day at work instead of doing it at home, in addition to doing your laundry, several daily extended trips to Chipotle, Starbucks, hot yoga, spin class, shooting hoops in your driveway and washing your car on company time lol. Not anymore. Play time is over. Well, just a little bit less so. Good riddance.
@2nox+1vCWrBJZ is an obsolete boomer clinging to their obsolete office. Do us all a favor and retire old timer.
You get nothing done at home any way so go back to the office and who cares if you zoom there. RTO 5 days is the perfect check to your entitled attitude, which is clearly one of the many, many, many things wrong with this company.
Hey, it’s a start.
let me go to the office so i can f**king zoom
I get nothing done at office it’s social hour with people I can’t stand
just get your entitled selves back the office & stop with the whiny excuses.
the 4 1/2 year staycation is over already.
When you are in open office, too much noise around you , make it hard to concentrate on work
RTO so you can be part of the hive mind virus. Make sure you complete your "mandatory" volunteer hours too.
Complete the Frontier purchase, and sell off fMCI and be done with it already.
And nothing gets done during these two office days. The office days are for socializing and to talk about the work that we’re not doing. lol go figure
What’s the problem. You were hired to be in the office. RTO should just happen when this pandemic went away.
Such a crazy obsession with RTO. Add value wherever you work from. Being in the office does not guarantee PRODUCTIVE EMPLOYEES. When I go into the office its is my least productive days of the week. RTO is nothing great, unless of course you are just jealous of the one who do WFH....just saying. Give a rest, please.
Some of us have been commuting from far away. This change is fantastic, I get the woke comment, but know some roles don't need an office just internet.
"Fire anyone who does not come into the office. There is far too much talent out there who will. This is what a woke workforce gets you!"
@hvn+1vCWrBJZ This has nothing to do with Woke, this is because the company closed offices that people lived near, and now expects them to relo to a "Hub" location at their own expense or commute 150 miles each way.
You might receive “V points” for the hours spent in your car that can cashed in on vending machines and the cafeteria (if you have one). Every 8 hours in the car equals 1 point . Collect 8 points for a team pizza party. Something like that. See phase 3 for more details.

Get to work
A hour commute. We techs commute 2.5 hours each way to nyc everyday.
Lol
I was told they are using Government "Metropolitan Area" classifications. Not sure it's always a specific miles or distance. On some documentation those that are still remote are listed as not having a hub within 100 miles. Of course the downside to still being remote is that you would be essentially trapped in your current role and virtually all new job postings require you to be hybrid.
Did they say how close you have to be, like 60 miles or 100 miles? What's the parameters of how far?
