Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I propose a new plan for vetting all cost-cutting ideas. Let’s call it “What’s Good for the Goose”.

The What’s Good for the Goose strategy is for Charlie and the Senior Executives to personally test and vet all the cost-cutting and “efficiency” ideas that come their way. If they approve such an idea, then they get to work with it too!

A few examples:

  1. Charlie and Senior Execs replace their Admins with the Admin team from the Philippines.
  1. Charlie and Senior Execs have to call HR themselves, go through the 2-minute phone tree and then wait on hold for 30 minutes only to find they pressed the wrong # because none of the choices are what they actually need.
  1. Charlie and the Senior Execs all get to share one printer way down at the end of the hall in the East wing.
  1. Charlie and the Senior Execs have to split off the replaceable pieces of their job duties and send those parts of their jobs overseas. Come on now- I’m sure there is someone else who can Zoom in to meetings where you just sit there, looking important, and look at your phone under the table for an hour. And for significant cost savings to the company.
  1. Charlie and the Senior Execs get to save the planet by printing all of THEIR important documents on both sides of the paper.
  1. Charlie and the Senior Execs get to use the same bathrooms as the employees. These are the same bathrooms “cleaned” one per day with dirty water and dirty rags. The very same bathrooms that run out of soap and paper towels, and usually have a few Out of Order stalls and a few faucets with no running water.
  1. Charlie and the Senior Execs have system or equipment problems? You get to call the same offshore Call Centers employees do. The days are disappearing where each office or LOB had their own on-site technical support. Ohhh the cost savings!

The Good for the Goose plan is a wonderful idea for our new and fair-minded CEO and Senior Execs to achieve buy-in on all cost-cutting measures from the employees.

How about forced rankings between the Senior Executives? Every year, the bottom 20% has to go.

I like it. You forgot the part about 1-2% raises if they get any at all.
