I've been here for three decades and unless they lay me off this is where I'll retire. I'm too old to start again unless I have to. But if I was younger, if this was just the start of my career I'd be out of here yesterday. This is not the same company it was when I started. Hell, it's not the same company it was ten or even five years ago. I'm sad to say that Fiserv has been on a constant downward spiral for years. Employees are no longer seen as an important asset but an expense they can easily do without - and that's how they've been treating us lately. If you are young and want to see your career flourish, leave ASAP. I certainly would if I could.

Talk to you manage about what you can do for a promotion. That should get you laid off. Whatever you do, do not let them know your retirement date. That will guarantee that you will retire instead of being severanced.
I keep hoping that Fiserv will get rid of me since I'll be 63 in June and would love some severance, but they never do.
It’ll get worse, the quality leaders are gone. It’s just hacks left now.
The hostility isn't between ofs and ofd worker bees. It has to do with the senior leaders and the workers. The senior leaders have a toxic approach to management, strip away the workers benefits and that iron fist attitude is what is spilling over to client outages. The senior leaders are making decisions without engaging the tech professional that actual keep it running. This p-ss-d off a enough people that you are seeing a wave of attrition from the company for 2 years. They have over 600 open jobs, can't find people willing and talented people to come to Fiserv. What does this all mean, you have people that have no clue how things work, fixing and patching equipment and causing client related issues. The FD came in with how they wanted to run things and made decisions without knowing the complexities of man different systems that are co-mingling on the network. 2020 was one of the worst years for outages.
@hnj+18UMEt5G You know, you are the reason the company s—s. The us and them mentality is exhausting. Grow up! If you had good management, the feedback would be welcome! Problem is that a bunch of narcissist's took over as management. They dont even pretend to care and that is really, really sad. I've worked for both companies, Fiserv and FD and now a client. You guys need to get your c-ap together. The morale issues are seeping into your relationship with clients. No one wants to deal with 2 year old and thats what a bunch of you sound like. Dont get me wrong, I get it - I have been there but the nastiness between OFD and OFS and honestly who the hell cares! Try to be one and get along! Both companies have talented employees ...make it work or get out.
The one and only benefit that retained me through this is how much PTO is available.
But I must move on now, for significantly higher pay, and better benefits to my long term future.
Yeah, if you are older and at the high side of your pay grade. They will let you go. Keep those skills updated. I've heard that FD leadership will bump up the pay grade so they can keep employee's and HR doesn't give them the pink slip.
Don't fret, you'll be on your way out soon enough. Your old outdated knowledge will soon be replaced.
You're absolutely right about the company but that's a weak cop out
