Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

To the editor of The Layoff board, please explain:

Why are postings related to the 2020 election and its possible affect on employment and layoffs being removed? Is it because of censorship or bias?

Since when has the economy had any bearing on layoffs? They do layoffs even when stock is climbing and the economy is doing well. I think if they could get away with it they would have 100% contractors except for the executives.

If there is changes in the administrations there is going to be big changes coming to human resources and health care. How are employees classified? Healthcare is still has not been addressed. Read that The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in 2017 that 55 million people in the U.S. are “gig workers”. This accounts for approximately 34 percent of the U.S. workforce, projected to increase to 43 percent in 2020. US population is classified as a gig worker This accounts for approximately 34 percent of the U.S. workforce, and is projected to increase to 43 percent in 2020. Look at the California lawsuits on how they classify workers. See employees residing in company cloud platforms and work is dispersed to the company internal/external departments clouds The AI algorithms assist in communications, project management and risk analysis. The AI affect on human capital is very interesting to follow!

@1dvv: I find it interesting that you apparently view Verizon and Verizon Wireless as separate entities. Last time I checked, there is no stock listing for VzW just VZ. You also stated "There is nothing any of us can do about it". Have you thought about voting? It is your right, privilege and honor to do so.

The president's decisions and policies can have a great impact on the economy. Which, in turn, can impact the number and extent of layoffs.
The election results have everything to do with layoffs. This is a very relevant topic for this forum.

This is a LAYOFF board not a 2020 Election board. Who knows or cares if this will have an effect on Verizon/Verizon Wireless layoffs. There is nothing any of us can do about it so why get people all fired up over it. Lets stick to the subject of CURRENT layoffs please. No one on here can accurately predict the future, unfortunately. Thank You.

@1lzh "devolves into an insult-ridden "shouting" match" and that would be different from the Union vs Non-Union, organization vs organization or pretty much any other discussions on this board how?

Posting questions about politics is trolling-in-disguise, in my opinion. It takes about two replies before anything politic-related on this board devolves into an insult-ridden "shouting" match - and everybody here knows it. Good riddance, as far as I'm concerned.

I do not believe anyone asked for and certainly did not manipulate any votes. People were asked for their opinion as to whether or not the 2020 election would affect the potential for RIFs at Verizon.

I saw a couple of the posts before they were removed and I saw no obscene language. So, I also am interested why they were removed.
