Invite from my VP for today. I feel totally unprepared for this conversation no matter what the news is, but my gut tells me it’s bad.
Best of luck to you all.

Don’t show the meeting and claim a “technology error”. What could go wrong?
@hiu - Demotion or severance because my role was eliminated. All I’ll say about the severance was that it was more than I expected and IMO does reflect that they’re trying to do right by those exiting.
@OP - Any updates that you are able to share about the overall experience / outcome ?
Believe that in many ways, this may be a gift. You may pursue things in life that you may have not if still employed with Nike.
What level are you?
What is there to prepare for?
Its not like you are negotiating anything. Unless you get an offer for demotion which you don't have to give an answer on the spot.
Take good notes because you will be in suspended animation during the call and likely forget details. Thats how shock works to protect your inner sole.
@ich - Global Ops. I don’t want to get any more specific, sorry.
Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.
@gwh - OP here. Relax, friend. I meant I don’t feel emotionally prepared. I’ve been applying for jobs for eight months (but I can tell you haven’t because you have zero read on how unfavorable the job market is), I’ve prepared financially (best I can, anyway), I’ve always been on under resourced teams so not a concern, and I thought I was emotionally prepared, but when you get that invite it suddenly feels like you didn’t do enough.
Im sorry for whatever experience made you so crass and unsupportive. Wishing you the best.
If you're getting invites, what org/department are you in?
You’ve had months to prepare for all possible scenarios. How are you totally unprepared? You could have been updating your resume for outside the berm, preparing to work on a team that has less resources, or learn more about teams you could possibly be moved to.
Saying you’re unprepared shows you didn’t care enough about your career to do something besides whine on here.
Me too
... and to you. :(
Good luck. The good news is if it’s a layoff they’ll just be reading from a script. You don’t really need to say anything. It will be ok.
Best of luck to you. No matter what you will be ok. You got this!
