The lesson still not learned: setting a date --any date -- for RTO will bite you in the a-s-s.
Some executives are getting a little smarter by promising vague "flexibility" and the good old chestnut "we will follow the data/science" -i.e., which actually means "don't have the slightesting f--c-k-n-g clue about this"
Why would you be worried about that?
@qfw+1epxVgmA - True. Fu----g, incompetent, egotistical id--ts is more accurate.
I will refrain from calling them Id—ts as the situation hasn’t stopped evolving. I am thankful they made the right decision and gave us a couple weeks notice.
I have to agree with several of the previous posts. At the risk of piling on, this outcome seemed pretty obvious when they announced the Jan 10 RTO.
I understand that things can change rapidly during a pandemic, but our leadership has had TWO YEARS to come up with a clear and effective strategy for addressing Covid and communicating the plan to employees. Instead, we have the Keystone Cops calling the shots.
Still get your medical accommodations in to protect yourself from layoff if you don't volunteer to return. Especially if you cannot wear a mask. Vaccine or not, telework agreements were cancelled months ago.
This was 100% obvious when the last puzzling communication came out. Actually frightening the C-Suite is this incompetent. After 10 - 15% of total staff and many top performers leave in Feb they will have to reevaluate RTO once again...
Probably will require everyone to be vaccinated using the vaccines that don’t work against the new variants. But you will be vaccinated and following THE science.

Like half of the company - he's on PTO.
I find it interesting that SP wasn’t the sender this time, just an anonymous update. Clearly he couldn’t stand to put his name on the delay.
Maybe they're reading the news:
The return-to-office date is 'history,' business and health experts say

Thank you to the accurate informants from last week!
I like it just how it is. Hope this lasts for ever. WFH, with occasional half days in the blissfully-quiet, mostly-deserted office if I need to get out of the house. Flexibility and no worries that there are unvaccinated people around me. :-)
More accurate title is, ".....And they look like bigger id--ts!"
Just incredible the sheer incompetence. The asset cap will never get lifted with this set of "leaders".
Discussing as a team. Clear as mud, as usual.
The email says distributed to all US employees so I’m sure it is just going through batch sending. It makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is that it was 13 days ago they pulled in the date to January 10. If they had just left everything as it was they’d look a whole lot less like id--ts right now.
The email is real and everyone saying it was coming was correct. The RTO is delayed, but no date was provided. As others have said, we are not required to return, but we can if we choose to and meet the following conditions: fully vaccinated, complete the COVID training, and follow mask guidance (which appears looser than before). The other return dates aren't affected. This is the right decision as far as I'm concerned.
Just got an email. No date given for the new return. Just that the offices will be open on Jan 10th for people that want to come in. And everyone else will be expected some other time in 2022
They should just not set an RTO date and let us work remote until the end of 2022 like other companies
Nothing yet.... Nothing online... we'll see if this is just more of the same ol' trolls playing games again.
I'm not holding my breath!
WIM hasn’t heard a peep. Of course, they had all the information they needed to delay RTO two weeks ago; if they’re going to now, what’s another day or two in the scheme of things?
They do care about us after all. Thank you Wells Fargo!
Those who received the email, how long did they extend it? I have not gotten anything yet.
Is tech affected?
For those outside company fishing for info. Press release will have all details later today
It’s a targeted email to find the mole.
Please, can someone provide more details? What email? What does it say? We didn’t receive any such email.
Important parts of the email:
Given the changing external environment, we are delaying our Return to Office plans. As promised, we are following the science and adapting our approach based on the latest data.
...
Stuff about how we can voluntarily return if vaccinated as all offices are open.
...
While we are adjusting the previous guidance the communicated return dates for all other groups remain unchanged at this time and we will communicate our plans in the new year.
It said they are pivoting to no longer require enterprise functions and support roles to return Jan 10. It has moved to voluntary for those who responded and provided proof of being fully vaccinated only. Other groups who had a later target return date are still in place. Masks are required if you aren’t 6ft apart, in a space with groups who are customer facing or in an area (state/county) that have stricter requirements. No mention of this subgroup is targeting a mandatory return (ie March, Spring, after other groups…).
My manager sent it to me, how come it wasn’t sent company wide?
Not having an RTO date yet is a smart move. Also glad to see masks are not required at desks.
Good luck to all those with only their first two shots as they go back. You are no more protected than the unvaxxed.
As someone who worked on the comm, scr*w you trolls. Many of us are tired of all this, too, and are just trying to keep those on the forum informed.
WOOHOO!
The best part about this is the they're not extending it to some arbitrary date.
It's simply extended "until further notice", which realistically is all they can do.
Love it.
Also, the mask guidance makes it seem like you don't need a mask at your desk, unless your desk is less than 6 get from someone else, but even then only matters if both of you are mask babies.
People shouldn't s--t on this. If you want to go back, go ahead! The rest of us that aren't living in the 80s will stay home.
No email for us yet....
I’ve gotten lots of emails today, but that is the life of a VP.
It’s like the neighbor kids ba----g on the door and then running away when you go to answer. RTO? What’s that? Societal stupidity is the gift that keeps giving this holiday season. 🤣
Everyone enjoy your extended time with family and friends (vaccinated of course) this year and have a safe, happy and healthy new year. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail in 2022.🙏🏻
Yes same I just got it ! Big thanks to everyone on this forum for the heads up and correct information. Love this community even with the trolls
and the email said?????
what email?
Please post for us retirees to see.
Same.
