Temper your expectations. The job market is not what it seems.
You mgr jumped the g-n on salary discussions. Haven’t been fully approved yet. I got Exceeds this round after having Meets at mid-year. I’m actually surprised by this.
Just got my perf discussion...SameO SameO meets and 8% bonus with with 2.5% sal+...How about urs
@hgk+1quLwmJt. So true. All of these obnoxious "oh I wish it was me" posts when people have just had their lives upended is gross. Grow up and be sensitive to those who are upset.
"Not seeing the logic there, "
Don't worry, we know.
"Especially replying to all the poor souls that have really suffered a job loss and probably have families to support, very heartless and transparent. Your false justification of wanting a severance package so you will be staying with an employer you obviously despise until you get one is so ridiculous."
Where is it heartless and transparent? Wishing that it were them doesn't make anyone heartless OR transparent. Maybe it will be a wake up call for those getting laid off to shift gears and plan for the long haul instead of living paycheck to paycheck.
And why is that ridiculous?
You obviously cannot fathom that some of us are doing fine and properly managed our financials. Some of us are at the tail end of our careers. From a financial perspective, it makes perfect sense to take the severance (if you have alot of years in). We can get another job, double dip and BOOST our net worth on the backside.
"Serious people just resign and move to a new position!"
Why? Do you feel threatened in some way? All this shows is your lack of depth when you make an id--tic statement like that. It isn't even relevant to your argument.
It seems your thought process is really the problem at WF.

So you think someone can’t have empathy and also speak for themselves if it’s not what someone else wants to hear or agrees with? Wow….ridiculous!!
I don’t think you understand empathy.

It’s possible (and healthy!) to have empathy for someone else withOUT denying and sharing how you feel about your own situation.
I don't want to be layed off. I love my job, but I despise that lying pencil necked POS in NYC. The best day in WF history will be when he gets his golden parachute. He should just be fired because he's a complete failure as a leader, but if a golden parachute is what it'll take to get rid of him, whatever. It's worth it.
"I do empathize with those who get displaced and don’t want to be or don’t know what/how they will manage."
If you have real empathy for people who post they just lost their job does it make any sense letting them know you WANT a layoff notice? How does that help? Do you care?
Not seeing the logic there, doesn't seem empathetic at all, only makes the hurt worse for those wishing they still had their jobs to support the families.

Not phony at all. I look forward to the day I get displaced from WF! Will I likely feel relieved, excited and also a little sad? Yep! I’ve had and given some good working year’s here and this is not how I thought my journey would end - but it is what it is. I have no intention of quitting. You can not like a job or employee and still choose to stay - for many different reasons.
I do empathize with those who get displaced and don’t want to be or don’t know what/how they will manage.
"No, serious people are going to make the evil little man in NY pay us severance if he wants to throw us away".
What a ridiculous statement!
It takes all kinds though, peace be with you. Just wondering why you all post you WANT a layoff notice, especially on a message from unlucky people that have actually been let go.
Makes no sense at all.
No, serious people are going to make the evil little man in NY pay us severance if he wants to throw us away.
Drw - Facilitator for what?
Write your final email now if there is anybody you want to say goodbye to or give your personal contact information. Have it ready to go as soon as your layoff is confirmed. Preferably while you are still in the meeting if it’s remote, immediately after if you’re on site.
Or some of us really want it to be us.
I get that it is a bit of a gut punch but there is more out there…..
It’s to go over your review
All you phony posters on here with the "Oh I wish it was me, or WOW I can't wait for mine", etc., please save us all from your obvious, repeated, TOTALLY FALSE hopes that you get a layoff notice! Especially replying to all the poor souls that have really suffered a job loss and probably have families to support, very heartless and transparent. Your false justification of wanting a severance package so you will be staying with an employer you obviously despise until you get one is so ridiculous.
Serious people just resign and move to a new position!
I'm so sorry. It's a cold reality when you see that email. My heart goes out to you.
Another employer will see your worth. I'm sending positive thoughts and hugs as you find a better role and put WF in the rear view mirror.
Got my 30 day working notice this morning. I'm a facilitator in a non hub city.
I got mine the beginning of December...off until May...relaxing and enjoying my time OFF. I guess, if the world hasn't changed by April, I'll start looking for something new...until then. I'm enjoying my days a great deal!!! Don't stress over it. Better things are waiting...and you're lucky to be rid of that crazy place!!!
You should definitely forward it.
you say you want it to be you until it is you
I'm so ready for my invite!!
