There's a group of us scheduled for a meeting next week with two senior leaders. We are wondering if they might be preparing us for being displaced on Tuesday, July 22. (Tuesday after our next payday on the 18th).

Thank you for Good Luck wishes. Best wishes for you as well. We aren't allowed personal belongings at work. Some people still have them anyway. We aren't even allowed to have paper or pens on our desks with the clean desk rule. It's weird seeing my work friends around me get let go, quit, or get displaced. I'm ready to leave empty handed with dignity.

If you are remote without a medical accommodation, then they have placed you there as a temporary hold until your displacement date comes.
@bd certainly you know 100% remote workers not in medical need to WFH are on borrowed time. The company has been very clear that remote workers are on the chopping block. Wish that was not the case. Too many great employees are being cut from the company.

Something is coming your way. Could also be a reorg. Any recent new leaders announced from the vultures predecessor “firms” with overlap in what you do?
Start thinning out your work station so you can leave in dignity. Everything should fit in your back pack like you're leaving early for the day to pick up your sick kid from school. For those who are not Wells Fargo, The Layoff, blue bloods, we don't do the perp walk carrying ANY boxes out the door. Good luck.

Yep. Follow your Scooby-Doo senses on that one. Especially if the meeting does not have an agenda. Just blank meeting invite or some vague title.
