Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

If you got to rate your manager, would he or she get a passing grade?

Consider yourself lucky that you've got access to all the systems! Some of us still don't

I was forced into a position in Feb when the rest of my dept was laid off. I just recently got access to all the systems and still have not been trained. I literally just stare at my computer for 8 hours while my old team asks for help here and there. I am just waiting to be laid off or find a new job. Truist is a horrible horrible company.

Post from TheLayoff.com

"What did this do to you? Tell me. And remember, this is for posterity, so be honest — how do you feel?"

By any chance, is there someone in upper management with six fingers on his right hand?

From my view the good managers are now either apathetic/looking or have already left. How can a decent person be OK when they are being asked (told) to treat their employees this callously and unfairly? These managers don’t appear to be mentoring much anymore, but just ask how you are doing with a resigned sadness. You can’t fairly assign a grade to them any longer, they are powerless.

The “in” group of managers are primarily unfeeling, unthinking corporate robots. It is painfully obvious they were chosen for no other reason than making it known they have zero desire to give ANY input, and thus would absolutely NEVER question ANYTHING that their superiors asked of them. There is not a rating low enough for these managers.

Agree with @gzl+1buaB9T9, it's crazy to see who landed in leadership roles and who was ousted or marginalized during the integration process. It was clear that BB&T leadership was being left on the sidelines in favor of SunTrust (and we all see how that's working out), but some of the folks picked on the BB&T side were absolute incompetent mo--ns who, I suppose, kissed the right a**.

Good, the problem is their boss and their bosses boss who change their minds seemingly weekly or take 6 months to get anything from them.

The problem is people who were good managers premerger have been marginalized, lied to and left out of the decision making process to the point of being jaded about the situation. In some cases they were moved from jobs they knew and could make a difference in to a siloed situation of no value to the company while people with no idea what they are doing were put in key roles. Then management wonders why integration is failing and subordinates question what is going on. Incredible!!

Managers, other than executive management, are in the dark, as all of us are. How can managers communicate change when they have no idea what the future holds. What I find irritating is when I question a directive, my manager's response is, "don't you trust me, or I'm watching out for you".

It's sad that no one questions when the wrong people are laid off or when something is just not right. It's a travesty and I will say as everyone else is saying, shame on you Kelly!
