Managers, Senior Tech Directors, AVPs - gone

will not be in the new org. span of control to be 15-20 direct reports. moving "executives" closer to decision making, closer to the front lines.

about time if they do this. We were doing this in classic T back in early 2000s. before SBC bought us out and exploded the upper mgmt layers that we had struggled to collapse in the 90s

We could easily remove levels 5-9 of management in this company and the only difference in the day to day would be the obscene levels of money they save by not having to pay for all the redundant positions across multiple organizations of the Company.

Do we really need: AVP -> VP -> SVP -> EVP -> President levels for EVERY technology type ?

Fake news

No way they would have 30+ stores rolling to a director. Then if they had ISMs supporting retail it would pull those numbers out of the retail channels.

Doesn’t make sense

They need to cut from the top rungs of executives. AVPs and directors are already closer to the real work and understand it. If you think your AVP is bad wait until you have to report more directly to a VP or SVP. Those clowns know nothing about the nitty gritty of what happens where the rubber meets the road. And they will be desperate to prove their worth by "taking charge". What a fiasco! Can you say Captain Queeg? Look for some very wrong headed and capricious decision making. Strawberries! LOL.

Not sure how that makes any sense as 6/15 would be the end of the quarter. Can’t imagine anything happening 5/15. I could be wrong. What numbers determine a bloodbath? Any solid info aside from rumors here?

Will this mean I will have to work harder? Will I still be able to take long breaks and take my sweet time getting to the customer site?

RdC lost their director he wasn't really a good leader, and neither try are two of the managers that was left. But they did get remove a bunch of dead weight, and trouble makers. We feel like the Maytag repair person. To many gone, workload doubled for those still here. Sorry for the good employees that were let go.
