Ironically, the newer hires sometimes are hired in at higher salaries….and what’s being hired for are very specific roles/programs
How many actually took this? Some teams losing 15-20% of their associates. Is this the plan? Get rid of older workers and replace with young, cheap, inexperienced people that are easily controlled and manipulated?
I’m declining the offer also. I’m on the option to get unemployment.
@gvcp+1pzxKco0- Going to ride the wave although I strongly thought about taking the offer. Let them RIF us old folks!
I was considering taking the early retirement offer even though I am not ready to retire but the news today about possible merger with Cigna confirms there are certainly more RIF in our future. I will wait for the next round. Anyone have any other thoughts?
I may take the offer. Tired of the stress, tired of being overworked and not paid fairly (I’m exempt). Tired of my leader doing nothing but blah, blah, blahing all day and not able to help. It’s sick.
You may not have enough years in, it’s 55 and a certain amount of years
It really depends on who you know. I know a number of people who’ve been waiting years for Humana to offer early retirement again. They’re taking the offer this time.
I’m in the 55 + group and have not heard of anyone taking early retirement this time.
You have to be 55 regardless of years of service. If your age is 50 and you have 16 years of service you don’t qualify.
Did any nurses in the SNP program get early retirement offers
Yes, at least 55
If age plus years of service equals 65 or more you qualify.
If age and years of service are 65 or greater do you qualify? Do you have to be 55?
@1hvm+1pzxKco0- certain “critical “ associates did not get offers. If you are 55, you would still need to have ten years of service so your years of service and age to equal 65 or more.
I received one too. The email said that Humana it's offering voluntary early retirement packages to employees 55 and older.
Those who decide to retire will receive severance equal to two weeks per year of service, up to a year of pay, "plus other elements." To be eligible, employees must be 55 years or older, have five years or more of service and have a combination of age and years of service that equals 65 or greater, according to a statement released and the email.
Did you have to opt in or opt out of the early retirement offer?
I’m concerned because I should qualify, but didn’t get one.
@1vmb+1pzxKco0- if you’re actually an Humana employee that met the requirements, you would have received your offer by now. They all went out on Monday. Regarding unemployment, there are a couple of states that you can attempt to get unemployment if you leave voluntarily however it is very hard, and it usually does not happen. You have to show that you were under duress at the company that you voluntary left. Most states do not allow unemployment for people that chose to leave. This retirement offer is absolutely voluntary and if you had actually gotten an offer, you would know this!
The early retirement offer is the same exact benefit you would get if you were RIF
Yes same here. They do have to pay you unemployment if you take early retirement. Sorry I waiting also.
