Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

What channels are being impacted by the upcoming RIFs?

Confirmed that HV acknowledged Q4 RIFs, but who's getting hit?

I’m thankful they can’t layoff in System Performance.

From the other page, rumors are 5% across the board.

Does anyone know if customer support or tech support is part of the RIF? I found this site after looking at the Q3 video and some of us are worried.

If you are on the list… you will receive an unexpected invite from your manager Wednesday evening for a Thursday AM meeting.

If there is actually a large layoff for Thursday, leaders should be getting briefed today or tomorrow. Keep an eye out if calls start getting cancelled the next couple of days. Whoever is impacted should know before noon on Thursday so we are less than 72 hours from that timeframe. On the up to speed earnings call, Hans said it would be “nothing unusual”. So although he did acknowledge they would happen, I wonder how big it will actually be

AT&T pushed most of its SMB/BAM roles to call centers a few years ago. They more or less eliminated that position for a few years and then brought it back, but with many less positions. Maybe a fraction of what it used to be. With the recent diversion from SMB to consumer post paid. I could see the SMB role being slashed and give some brown nosing suck up a title of SMB SME. Just without extra pay or title. Just more responsibility with the "promise" of a promotion down the road that will never come. Hans loves outsourcing to $h!ty 3rd party call centers.

I'd take a guess that some stores could get an SM spot dropped, but the staffing is too low for that to really work, but hey. Our leadership at the top has no clue what's going on. They live in their bubble.

They could potentially outsource the position like ATT did. I don’t know that TMO even has the position anymore. Or the other possibility would be, they outsource national retail support, cut a bunch of indirect account manager head count and just have them support large areas of agents only

@cwf+1jltF0Xo Wouldn’t the logical
thing be to not mess with indirect account managers? Since they want more indirects you’d think anything tied to indirects would be relatively safe.

Any news on indirect account managers? Are they flying under the radar enough to survive cuts?
