The problem with DEI at Nike isn’t the bad wrap it’s gotten from folks who like to blame DEI for everything. It’s that there are a couple of truly two-faced long-standing people on the team that have toxic attitudes and have made it impossible for anyone to respect the people or programs and take the work seriously. We should all be thrilled to celebrate the departures of ML and CN. There hasn’t been news this good since the departures of folks execs like MM & grifting leaders like JS.

Here come the underperforming perennial snowflakes moaning and whining about DEI. Nike needs another 20% cut targeting these miserable benchwarmers to get back to its winning ways.
@gc ML led Accessibility and CN led learning. They were ok at their actual jobs but completely toxic and two faced, portraying themselves as lovely colleagues as they talk sh-t about and stab you in the back. The embodiment of problematic which is ironic.
It is mind boggling to see just how few people recognize the role which the aggressive push for DEI played in Nikes struggles.
Funny how so many DEI hires turned out to be completely unqualified. Not a shock that Nike started tanking right after going all-in on DEI.

@cr I’m in Hr and the guy was 100% a fraud, he also hired sketchy people. Look up the person he hired from Facebook that embezzled money from us and Facebook.

@a6 he’s a fraud. Google his pictures you’ll see who he was when he joined nike and who he was when he left. He played a role and was in full character.
@a6 come on now JS went from director to EVP in under 5 years. Sure you can blame LT for putting him in that spot, but the guy was also FOS. All he had to do is speak numbers and logic, everyone gobbled it up but behind all that was no true substance. Now he’s a LinkedIn champion pushing his book.
Being an EVP under 30 is absolutely insane. There is no one mature enough to handle that unless you start your own company from day 1.
DEI is half the reason why Nikes leadership is so poor right now…
