Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

For those that weren’t impacted, how are you feeling?

Obviously it’s a scary time for everyone. Unfortunately, I was impacted. I was in IT under Levi’s organization. For those that weren’t impacted, are you going to continue to look for jobs outside the organization in case you’re next on the chopping block? Or are you going to continue to stay and hope for the best?

Burnt to a crisp with this company. I've lost the plot, the new values... whatever. Just DO NOT care anymore. Still care about my coworkers and the work can be rewarding at times but that's it. I'm still waiting on a mea culpa from management for the Project Growth debacle. Now this sh*t.

@gbs+1qxcr3XX I'd go one step further and say they not only don't care about employees, they truly don't care about the members, either. It is all about the top brass filling their wallets.

Just got out and told them that the constant layoffs and cutting was the reason why I left. So feeling relieved.

From my perspective.... There are way too many pretenders at the VP, SVP level employed at Humana. The daily posturing, and verbal and body language to look informed, qualified and successful is almost comical. Cultural pressures drive most of this type behavior.

Our IT leader said in an anonymous zoom call yesterday that layoffs will continue throughout the year until they meet their targets. I wouldn't feel guilt at all I would feel fear. I was laid off and I've decided to not look for another position within Humana because I know there's no security at that company right now.

Envision taken private/ bought by KKR 2018.
Jim R became CEO of Envision Feb 2020.
Envision filed for bankruptcy May 2023.
Jim R became CEO of Humana Jan 2024.
"Mr. Rechtin has criticized insurers in the past. In an article he penned for The Tennessean in March, Mr. Rechtin wrote that insurers are "hiding behind the No Surprises Act to cut physician compensation, often pocketing the money for themselves instead of passing it on to the employer or patients."

It's terrifying knowing the new CEO just separated from Envision, which filed Chapter 11 last May, under his helm. My faith of retiring with Humana is broken.

Sorry for all those impacted. It seems that Humana is laying off those that are doing the work as opposed to those that have no clue and making v the big bucks.

I suspect most who 'survived' this latest round are looking. It's pretty clear what is happening (rich people exploiting workers to get richer quicker). Pretty obvious at this point. I fully expect them to sell when they get a chance as well.

Sorry you were impacted. I will continue to look external. Too much instability, little commutation, and lack of trust. Executives seem to be lining their own pockets and maximizing profits. They don't care about employees.

Clearly that’s the plan by hiring new CEO (merger)
