Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Surprising fact

Many people who have decided to leave T have landed jobs in most admirable companies. It appeared as though they knew nothing when you worked with them, but it is shocking to see how they beat the competition and landed awesome roles. Kudos to their preparation, grit for trying and moving on.

@f3 Nope! Leaving in 3 weeks. Landed a remote job with approximately 1/3 MORE than what I’m making now. Tip: be good to others, keep looking, do not give up when you receive that email saying they’re moving forward with different candidates, keep going, and don’t be an a$$hole. There’s life outside this organization. I’m quite sad to leave my wonderful colleagues but they’re also very happy for me and inspired by the movement.

The job pool is overfilled with vastly under qualified candidates…starting with H-1B interlopers. With this disgusting situation, too many highly qualified candidates are passed over…especially middle age White men.

Would you like to make that a combo meal or do you just want the sandwich?

With all the people from India that can’t complete tasks or even speak English, I’ll have zero problem shining in an interview. After all, my English is perfect and I am a top performer.

In today’s work environment being from India means you’re just cheaper, and cheaper isn’t what successful companies are looking for.

OP certainly has the pulse of everyone who has left and what defines as company as "admirable". Way to go.

HR at other companies: “We heard the rumors about how badly AT&T treated their employees but thought they were exaggerated. Now we know they were not. They sound terrible.”

It has been nice to see former coworkers and getting assistance from them when I’m shopping at Walmart and getting lunch at a fast casual restaurant.

Cool story, bro. Reality is many struggle, accept lesser roles, and regret sc--wing up the gig they had.
