Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

How big are these layoffs?

Is it like 1000 employees or 10000 employees?

I’m wondering if we’re not hearing anything because it’s really small

I was impacted by layoffs in 2022. Looking back nearly a year later, being laid off was the best outcome for my mental and physical well-being. I had a successful career in banking/finance for nearly 20 years at multiple financial institutions prior to coming to Truist. I would characterize my time at Truist as being miserable, stressed, excluded, and overall observed a great deal of unprofessionalism, inept employees in key positions, and questionable decisions made by leaders. I felt the writing was on the wall in terms of layoffs early last year and stayed in order to remain eligible for severance.

My advice to anyone who has been laid off or anyone looking to jump ship is to know there is a future outside of Truist. I took the opportunity to change career paths and have never been happier. It was difficult and scary, but my mental and physical well-being is the best it has been in a long time. Polish those resumes, think outside of the box in terms of career options, and remember better days are ahead. Best of luck!

“Please tell me they laid off the people who thought it was a good idea to send us all a pre-school purpose workbook with stickers and a pen”.

They should be gone right behind the person who signed off on that nonsense cr-p that went straight in the trash!!!

“Has anyone heard of any lines of business that are being targeted?”

You, specifically. You’re being targeted.

The number of id10ts asking this question daily is remarkable.

They're looking to save $300 million from these RIFs. If these average $100k/yr we're looking at 3,000. Of course it's not that simple.
