Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Internal SAP consultants to be completely or almost completely phased out?

After reading the post-layoff email from CF, it’s hard to find even a glimmer of hope. Everything points to the fact that this was just a pilot, and more cuts are only a matter of months — maybe even weeks.

This message sends a clear signal: we’re better off quitting ourselves before the company does it for us.

Most likely, a minimal number of people will be kept on board to ensure a smooth transition from AFS to S/4, but counting on being among that group is a risky gamble.

It really feels like this was just the tip of the iceberg, and the worst is still ahead.

Dear fellow SAP folks: Are you getting the same impression, or am I just overreacting?

People downvoting @kd+1jvg9tw7n means that this thread has been hijacked by Accenture MDs. Accenture MDs can stoop so low that they are checking the threads of the clients and trying to shoot down any negative sentiments about them.

What's average Accenture offshore rate? Anything above $32 is a rip off, and only indicates that MD knows that she will be fired in an year or two and is simply building her retirement kitty with Accenture's kick back. She is following the footsteps of RL, the only difference is ACN instead of CTS.

if you crunch the numbers, ACN's offshore rates are around $60, while onshore they're way up in the 200s.

@ff+1jvg9tw7n Your illusion of accentures offshore rate is laughable.

LOL!! "this is all MD, not CF and MF they care so much about you".

It most certainly reeks of MD but pretending like CF and MF didn't play a huge part is laughable and shows a complete lack of "actually works there" knowledge.

The point is whether the whole affair in beneficial for Nike? Probably yes, since you are replacing resources whose average salary and overheads exceed 250k per employee, with an offshore resource who bills you @$35*2000=$70,000. And ofcourse zero entitlement of an FTE.
But what's the impact of this on Beaverton local economy or Oregon or US?
And why does your tech strategy keeps changing every year? You hired these people at hefty packages, have you fired those people who made this decision in past to do all the ERP work inhouse?

ACN predated both CF and MF and has ties all the way to at least the C-suite. If you're going to blame someone, at least blame the right people.

You might not like CF and MF, but I guarantee you they care about Nike and their folks a LOT more than anyone else at their level or higher. And they're a lot more long-term minded.

This has MD-level fingerprints all over it. Another comment said it best: this decision was short-sighted and uninformed. Just like MD.

Yes I do think it started with CF. All she has done is fail since she was kicked out of the biz. Guarantee she is touting this as her big play.

@da+1jvg9tw7n do you really think this was the brainchild of CF? It wasn't - this is MD all the way. She has to make her budget numbers and with the hard sell from ACN this is the direction chosen to supposedly reduce costs and upgrade support. Karma really needs to come around for MD who barely even knows what the various departments in her org do and hardly understands tech.

Is this some weird attempt to get people to quit without severance?

The real question is, is there any hope for those who are left behind?
