@2pcq+17zOOR4b that's not entirely true. Blue states typically have higher state and local taxes (SALT). Until the recently SALT deductions with no limits were permitted on federal taxes. The last tax change capped SALT deductions at $10,000. Because they were permitted to claim unlimited SALT deductions, the red states were subsidizing programs in the blue states. So while the return on dollar for dollar appears to benefit the red states, blue states were basically funding their programs under the table and having it subsidized by the SALT deductions.

BTW, the blue states pay more in taxes because they support the red states.

This is because 40,000,000 Californians have the same number of Senators as the nine people who live in Idaho.

I exagerate but the point remains.

Maybe the flyover states should start pulling their weight.

Funny about the flyover states feeling like the coasts look down on them.

The coasts don't actually look down on you. You may have dealt with someone who was a little full of themselves, but no one looks down on you.

You are being fed that nonsense by people who want you to vote a certain way.

The truth is the coasts don't think about you much at all, because they have jobs and familes and local issues that take up all their time.

Just like you.

The only real difference is people on the coasts don't listen to AM talk radio folks telling them how nobody likes you, again, to try to get you to vote a certain way, by turning Americans against other Americans.

Tell me again where Warren Buffet lives? Or the Koch's?

Omaha and Kansas.

It's "yokels" not "youkles".

Pretty funny that you're trying to stir up outrage over alleged an intellectual superiority complex of the NY and SF crew and you can't even spell your own insult right.

Completely agree. Bullying from the old-timers who think they can do anything they want to do - especially the lousy tellers that are now Engineering Managers. That is how they get their job done - by bullying and intimidating. AND THEY ARE TELLERS who know absolutely nothing about technology and designing a system.

Completely toxic! The most toxic company I have worked at.

Buying GE capital businesses also ruined a lot of good business lines with their coe’s and six sigma bs. Most arrogant bullying people I know. They are right and you are wrong, no matter how many businesses they run into the ground.

No, not all companies are bullies.

If you have a manager that's a bully that's just a bad manager. Intimidation is the result of poor management skills.

We do have some of those in IT.

All companies are political, that's true of life in general.

But no company should be toxic, and Wells is certainly toxic.

You can't work at Wells and feel good about the company with all the crimes and the constant promise of layoffs.

Toxic, I agree with 100%.

@17z, I agree. All companies have bullying management. All of them. Singling out Wells Fargo and thinking that you won't experience it elsewhere is delusional.
People think Capital One is a great company but I can tell you it's full of bullies and h/r let's them get away with it.

Buying Wachovia was the worst decision ever.

When the Sandlers sold World Saving to Wachovia they described the Wachovia people as a bunch of hicks with a big bank. Let me tell you, from what I saw in the short time before Wachovia was sold to Wells Fargo, give me hicks any day.

The Wachovia people I met were down-to-earth, decent, friendly people I could respect. The WF people were arrogant, nasty, and dishonest.

I live in the Bay Area. Doesn’t mean I’m blind.

That's your view, mine's different. I think this bank represent America. I think the Left wing congress has been after banking for a good long while, they blame the place for their own failures. They've got Charlie the monkey in here doing massive amounts of kissing up congress with zero impact. Charlie also knows zip about the bank.

Was Wachovia really failing? I started at WF right as the merger was almost finalized.

Arrogance too... What the SF Bay area and NYC have in common is the pure arrogance they possess. If the bank, oh I'm sorry...'the firm' feels that way about us youkles in flyover country by all means be upfront and advertise that fact and close all the branches except in California and New York. Displace all the talent and show us how much more profitable and efficient you will be without us brain dead anchors holding you back. In case you forgot, the majority of the sales scandal occurrence were in west coast regions. Norwest should never have bought WF with its baggage and WF should never have bought the east coast failure Wachovia. If the brain power on the coasts is so superior, why were they bought by a Midwest bank?
