Rumors are swirling for a major Optum layoff tomorrow. I wonder if it will also impact this side too.

@f9 I did here rumors that an svp of security d hindering was in estimated for inappropriate behavior and was cut in the recent RIF. They need to clean shop in cyber!

UHG can’t continue to hide behind its historical pattern of ignoring or failing to enforce non-retaliation policies—especially when employees are afforded protections under laws like Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 806, the Dodd-Frank Act’s 21F provisions, and the False Claims Act’s anti-retaliation rules.

@fh Sadly yes. I worked there over 30 years and was laid off from the UHC side.

I've worked at UHC for ten years and Optum has always seemed to have layoffs more than the UHC side. Whenever I've looked for other positions internally, I never apply to Optum because I feel like there's always something happening over there! That being said, it's a huge corporate company; layoffs are gonna happen. You could be here 30 years and one day, pink slip. I love working here and I work hard, but it's always in the back of my mind that nothing is 100% set in stone as one of hundreds of thousands of "at-will" employees.
This biggest data breach Unh had and the real people who needed to get cut did. It sounds like the new CISO means business. 300+ people were affected yesterday!
hey @a2, you don't know much about uhc, right? same with optum. there are cuts every week here / we're just so geographically distributed you never hear about them. that's why threads are blowing up here, as people are, for the first time, seeing all the shenanigans that the execs are pulling off.
This was correct. Wish I had read this yesterday so at least I'd be more prepared. The layoff date is the beginning of September. Either apply for a new company that will oversee the business and hope you get a position or apply internally. (As if they aren't downsizing as well). People who have worked here 20+ years given a 2 month notice. Newcomers hired just 6 months ago now have to do it all over again. Truly sad.

That page is ridiculous. Every day since Memorial Day some “insider” says that “tomorrow the biggest RIF ever” is happening.
Of course things are dire but the constant flood of posts there has me think it’s a few trolls just rilling people up.
