@v7 100% spot on. So many Cluster B Types - feels like you get a PhD in dark psychology just from working there.

OP, learn the difference between paranoia and paranoid. The phrase is "Only the paranoid survive." It implies that if you aren't worried about someone being out to get you someone will probably get you. It encourages a dog eat dog environment where you have to be constantly aware of your surroundings and looking for danger. It is a toxic environment. Energy is spent on survival instead of being used on innovation.

Only the mental illness or mental disorder people can survive at Intel. Normal people are pushing out because they aren’t paranoia enough to stay at a mental hospital called Great place to work.

@ng
You completely misinterpreted Andy
Groves statement I suggest you read his book! The term "only the paranoid survive" and "you are in charge of your own employability" have absolutely nothing to do with stabbing your peer in the back and clawing on for life as the company continues downhill. It refers to staying two to three steps ahead in technology and innovation of your competitors and doing the same in your job skills! Mo--n.

Paranoia is for d-mb or powerless who have no idea where the threats are coming from. Extra paranoia for your average Intel d-mb influential. For the rest are not threatened even with a field position.

Intel is basically nothing more than a political welfare agency at this point.

Paranoia is a mental illness mind or state in hope to stay survive from bankrupt, out of business, death, financial frauds, lost face, a divorce, test exam failures etc … Not a regular of a normal person who wants to be successful. You should avoid the paranoia.

Intel is going to end up with only toxic people since management who kept their jobs are playing favorites. All honest hard working people will leave or be cut.

The title of Andy's book turned out to be an extremely ironic joke, and the history of its decision making from the late 1990's onward proves it every step of the way. WMT was one of the first canaries in its coal mine.

Paranoia at Intel means if you think you're the best of the best, that nobody can touch you -- that you're wrong, the competition is gaining on you, and you always need to push to do better.
