Is it true they are tracking badge outs?

Someone on here said they are tracking badge outs at energy park operations center.

How do they manage badge out when no one badge out in most buildings?

Not tracking badge out, but likely tracking the laptop disconnected from network or logging off or shutting.

@m4 these folks will get put on a PIP and fired first, I think. 5 days a week with the space issues in some locations just won't be possible. And from the town halls it sounds like they're looking to shed additional real estate as they're able. GK's little road show for in person town halls is scoping out space and usage in hubs, guaranteed.

@kg I couldn't agree more. I would love to have more flexibility but at the same time I've worked long enough to be aware that the 3 day requirement (for now) is a lot better than most people in my job function could have expected for several years.

I've got a mess of coworkers refusing to come in more than a day a week and I feel like they're going to ruin it for the rest of us. The bank is just going to use them as an excuse.

@kd tell me about it Im in a job where I don't have a quota to meet or am in sharepoint or excel all day so I don't really know what data they are going to get out of it except that its to figure out how to cut the fat and basically have people working non stop for 8 hours

People aren’t going to like this but here’s the truth. I hate RTO as much as anyone and completely disagree with everything they’re saying. But the reality is that it’s here. We can all hate it but short of finding a job that’s remote, come in and do the time. The quickest way to either getting fired or 5 days a week is not being there. All the people that come in, swipe and leave, are the ones that will get canned or get everyone back to 5 days a week. I’m fine with complaining about it. I do. A lot. But when it goes to 5 days a week because you’re not complying, don’t complain.

@fp idk how this would work for jobs where we don't have actual "tasks". I have a job where tracking "productivity" would be completely subjective to whoever looks at the stats. Some days I'm typing a lot. Some days I'm on calls for 7 hours.

Kind of a silly question. Do you have to badge out to leave? Yes? Then they are tracking. Everything is tracked. Key strikes, IP addresses, etc. It's what they do with it that matters.

Yeah this cr-p about Sapience that they try to sell claiming it will “help look for process improvements” making our lives easier are code words for we want to automate your job. They think we’re stupid.

Sapience is probably going to be bank wide sadly I don't see how it wouldn't with them wanting to increaee inefficiencies

@f6 Exactly, I want the transparency.

@f6 Most of us don't have Sapience installed on our devices. Only selected departments or roles use that for "tracking efficiency" or whatever the claim is.

let's be real. they are only tracking 11 days a month (average of 3 days in office a week) with badge in's. that's the only thing they are really tracking. just be up front about it and communicate upper management.
BUT........
there is Sapience which tracks your time like a micro manager and they can always check IP's if they want to.

our offices dont swipe a badge to leave so they cant track us leaving

they would have the ability to that because of the parking gate. But what about public transportation, or parking in the guest lot. I think tracking via a variation in IP activity would be more efficient once programmed.

RTO reports just look for 11 days in office per month. That’s it. Swipe in and do some work.

It sure is. People have asked for consistency so that is what is happening.

Lmao energy park must be the only us bank hub with staff that can create a badge that works swiping both in and out.

@ap if they spent half as much time and money on tech infrastructure upgrades as they did on making people go back into offices it'd be a step towards us being a halfway decent bank.

But they'd rather nitpick and bully employees and spend money on building reporting to micromanage us instead so. Here we continue to be.

@ah well, remote workers are stuck in whatever position they're in unless they leave or move to a hub. So, the grass isn't greener there either. It may seem that way, but everyone has been fu---d over with RTO. People hired remote long before COVID are now SOL. The whole thing is stupid, unfair, and ridiculous.

It feels like the answer changes every time something gets brought up about how PTO gets factored into the requirements. I’ve heard multiple conflicting responses each time it’s asked on all hands calls. No one can give a straight consistent answer. The fact that they have not come up with a way by now to track how your vacation time spent away from work impacts the number of days you need to be in a month is laughable. They care more about getting on everyone for missing an in office day every once in awhile than the actual work that gets done. Some people are nitpicked to death on it while others conveniently it’s more relaxed on from what I’ve observed.

If it makes anyone feel better, remote workers here are miserable too. Cruelty is the point in this country and at this company right now.

@ac are you meaning for compliance with RTO or the number of hours in office?!?! This is utterly ridiculous! To cause this much impact to people required to be RTO but people who are remote have the work life balance needed. Heck that was the entire reason why I applied at this company was because it was remote and when discussing with hiring team was told no problem with picking up your kids from school…. I guess I need to start looking for a more flexible position. I guess that’s the point!

Manager discretion is no longer an option for RTO.
Weekly reports are being reviewed by SEVP, and EVP. From there the division leaders need to advise why a particular employee is not adhering with a RTO schedule.

Managers have access to a report on workday that shows the % of days employees swipe their badge. It’s not a count, so swiping 5 times in one day doesn’t matter, but managers can see that you swiped 80% of the days, etc.
