@fh, nothing to be surprised. Cisco is known for not being able to execute. Just see the mess inside.

Same exact story here. I’m in the WW collab business and over the past year and a half we had a decent SE director get booted (likely for disagreeing with inauthentic leadership and pushing buttons trying to advocate for us) and we were placed under what I’ll call an unproven director replacement. So what do they do- give that new director a DOUBLE JUMP promotion to SE VP when she’s not even technical lol. Now they’re completely absent and it’s like our direction and guidance hit a pause button a year ago with the good SED and it’s more of ‘just keep doing what you’re doing.’ Now that they’re a VP I don’t expect them to do a damn thing for us as we’re the stone to step on for whatever next role I’m sure they’re already shopping for.
People reading this who are still at Cisco should not feel smug about being kept on. You are on a sinking ship and the longer you stay, the more ruined your own resume becomes. If you pass the ten year mark you are permanently damaged.
@cs are you me? We got a new manager and a new director in a reorg and everything went to sh-t. Director brought in their pals and pushed out older, both in age and tenure, leaders. Team culture took a massive hit and everyone is ready to bail.
Reality is Cisco promotes few Axx hole managers just for his single purpose of ruining employees careers and get them out. They accomplish what good people and managers would never do.
Twenty two years of Cisco contribution and then one last manager nullified all good gesture to make my life he-l, and out the door. Nothing could be done.
I signed the documents and dropped off the laptop at FedEx this morning. Then I called a few of my former managers who are no longer with Cisco to thank them for what they did for me. I was fortunate to have had some great bosses over the years — except for my last manager and the director, who were absolute a--holes. It only takes running into one bad manager like that to end a career, no matter how much you’ve contributed to the business before. It’s really unfortunate to see how much the quality of management has declined.
Cisco is anyway not a good company
Before moving to greener pastures and out of sight from Cisco, take a moment and enjoy your hard work contributing to Cisco, and the little money Cisco paid to sign you off as waiver. Money should be in the bank very soon.
I hope some of you become entrepreneurial

Me too! End of my Cisco tenure today! I have secured another role but it doesn’t pay as well. However, I believe it is a matter of time before better opportunities (than Cisco) will open up. Hiring in US typically slows down between November and January next year, so look forward to the next year!
