Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What has Wells Fargo done for you lately?

https://www.linkedin.com/news/story/bofa-vows-to-lift-employees-4385201/

Bank of America made the top five of LinkedIn’s Top Companies list — and for good reason: It made commitments to lift up employees and communities they serve. Last month, the banking giant increased its four-year commitment to advance racial and economic opportunity to $1.25 billion. It also launched initiatives to retrain employees, including reskilling more than 20,000 workers to support PPP loan distribution.

Charlie wont do that.

Investing in American employees does not help his stock options.

He lives by outdated policies and tired strategies. American employees are enemy #1.

The layoffs will continue until morale improves.

@eho. They only have less employees because they already tried the offshoring to India, found out it didn’t work also well and started hiring back in the US.

So in about three to five years after they lost all their knowledge, Wells will be doing the same and trying to rebuild their customers’ trust once again. Because websites being down and bad customer service doesn’t go over so well with customers. Shocking I know.

The best part of working at WF is every other Friday.

@spy+1aCzn9TO. You think that is why Charlie does not care about me? I am lame and stupid and Charlie will lay me off. I am so sad. You are so smart so Charlie cares about you. You must love Charlie a lot. I am so jelly

You have the same canned response every day. Nothing important to contribute, nothing intelligent to say, rarely relevant to the conversation at hand, boring, tedious, dull, small-minded, repetitive, a waste of space on the internet. 💤

@nvm+1aCzn9TO and @kdw+1aCzn9TO are obviously paid cheerleaders. The mock outrage while some powerful, rich dude gets raked over the coals by people whose live Charlie is destroying is pathetic.

All you're doing is making management look even more pathetic than passing a compensation package by an insultingly low 57%. If Charlie had any character at all he would refuse the increased compensation since that's essentially what he was told.

OP

I agree with you on every point, except for that last sentence.

Disregard the others. They are not getting enough oxygen - their heads are too far up Charlie’s ru-p.

They also have less employees and more revenue. You do the math. If we didn't have a cap and 69k less people, WFC would be in the same position

My gosh, the entitlement.

What do they do for me? Um, they pay me? Provide subsidized heathcare and paid time off? Don't get me wrong, I think WF is a miserable place to work but I come in every day and do a job. They pay me for it. Until one of us decides to end that arrangement, that's pretty standard and reasonable.

Layoffs will continue until morale improves? Layoffs will continue until Charlie satisfies the board, wall street and regulators that the bank is on solid footing. When layoffs stop, morale will presumably improve. But I suspect OP's never will.

'reskilling' is the only thing you listed worth more than a bucket of warm sp-t. The rest of it isn't stuff done "for me" but "to me", so yeah, no thanks BofA recruiter.
