System issues are not layoff related. They are due to the loads of cr&p activity tracking/asset/remote software/ fight off every malware they have loaded onto your laptop. They have so much sh*t loaded on the typical laptop it is a damn miracle you don't spontaneously shut down every day. I can't imagine there is anyone here in IT support that knows everything installed lol
My PC just abruptly shut down and went dark. In my 20+ years never seen it do that. Thought it was my time, then found I was able to restart. Not sure which felt better. The shut down or the restart.
It can go either way, they can fire you and file the warn the same day, and pay through the end of the warn notice, but your last day is today. network access is shut off while on the call. badge access also shut down. a lot of big companies do this because of security risks of keeping disgruntled employees credentialed and with network access.
or do like you said, which is more compassionate but only leads to stress as they say "or if you can find another position in the company before this date".
some companies have sc--wed up and fedex'd boxes to remote employees before notifying them they were getting the ax
there's no clear single answer how it will be handled.
Getting the call and Being told … hey you’re going to be seperated from the company is different than the actual separation from the company and any official changes to payroll or employment status.
Mass formal finalized separations aren’t happening within 60 days as a warn notice would be required.
Calling 5000 people this week saying they will be separated in October or November and then will recieve a severance package after that separation date, if they continue to work and comply with the terms of the arrangement would have no impact on the pay periods of notification… the official separation date down the road (oct/nov) will almost certainly coincide with the end of a pay period.
The really like to do these layoffs in sync with pay periods, so, it's highly unlikely that you'll see much of anything this week.
The week of the 12th is going to be a whole other story.
I had system issues last year the day I was notified of being laid off.
Are system issues and indicator of this?
Did any layoffs happen today? I’ve heard nothing. Not sure if that’s good or bad.
People facing positions get the idea.
I heard both but mostly Aetna
Is it CVS? Aetna? Both?
@eub+1tRqpQEg thanks for the heads up. please share the team / department and the outcome. sending positive vibes to all
The team I am on has a scheduled group meeting today, but with one addition - our VP. I have a feeling we are all getting the axe on the call. Do they do large group layoffs like that?
Beware the unexpected meeting invite.....
Did they move it up because of all the rumors? Doesn’t make sense to cut the week before the town hall.
I'm a sr AA. Saw it on my managers calendar the secret coded layoff meetings
