Some threads said only managers and above will be affected. Anyone has real info?
Is this purely duplicate functions and based on span of control? Or is it bottom x% including SWE will be cut?

VPs are the most useless in GT. A majority of them need to get removed and the rest needs to be consolidated.
A large portion of the Tech leadership is incompetent, They wouldn’t recognize talent if it fell on their heads. Expect they will get rid of anyone who questions they “why?” Of their stupid decisions
@epu Nike absolutely does pips and has forever, it usually has to be done for people rated inconsistent and below. People on plans or who have poor records are almost always cut loose in our layoffs when possible, pretty much guaranteed if they're expensive. This group will be a deliberate target in this layoff and is a bit of very reliable information that escaped closed doors early on.
Does anyone get a rating below S in GT? Don't think k Nike does PiP's
They will take this opportunity to get rid of poor performers… if you are on a PIP or have received a rating below successful in the last few years I would prepare for the worst. Also, if you’ve pi---d if your VP in the last few months you might want to start looking.

Looks like everyone are effected
There are a few filks who were laid off from our department a few weeks ago. None were managers. My guess ( and I may be wrong) is yes duplicate roles will be cut but they may or may not weed out poor performers or slackers or others to balance the age and gender distribution. I may be wrong. Like others I am dealing with uncertainty and anxiety and that is why I am here on this website on Christmas day! As I have no real info I speculate. I think all we are doing is speculation at this point
