The company will slash about 6,200 positions, adding to the thousands of layoffs this year that have come from within BP’s customers and products segment, which includes its global c-store business.

bp hasn't indicated any layoffs in the Texas Warn notices. I know of several people that have been laid off so far this year in Houston.

BP, headquartered in Houston, is expanding its layoffs from 4,700 to 6,200 jobs as part of a broader $2 billion cost-cutting plan, which will have a significant impact on the city. The company is refocusing on traditional oil and gas production, scaling back its earlier green energy efforts, and has already achieved $1.7 billion in cost reductions in 2025. BP's restructuring also affects its convenience store segment, but it remains heavily invested in major oil projects, including a potential massive discovery in Brazil.

Wasn’t it mentioned in the Q2 call that everyone who is getting cut now knows? So this is more so putting a number to existing cuts and not that there are new, additional cuts?

Isn’t this just in addition to the 4200 ish that they have cut earlier this year ? So just under 2000 left to cut?
