Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Dear quiet quitters: this is your fair warning

If you want to keep your job, 2025 is not the year to see what you can get away with to meet the minimum required for your job. We managers know who you are and the executives are constantly pressuring us to find opportunities for efficiency. If you give us a reason, you’ll be added to their efficiency list.

So much a-s kisser or troll posts here. The term "quiet quitting" is a fu--ing joke. Doing the minimum required standards? It's called "doing your job". Want people to "do more" - then raise the requirements, and raise the pay commensurate to the increased requirements.

You quiet quitting schmucks have it wrong.

HR has created more and more posts here these days. Trying to cover up the problem of their manipulations. All of these posts are fed into AI. Time will tell.

Manager here. I confess anonymously that I actually don't work hard either. I don't care how other employees are doing. This bank is already toxic enough, we have to focus on having a good time.

If you know your group is severely understaffed and have been advised there is a hiring freeze and you couldn't be replaced....do you you even need to quite quit? A warm body is better than nothing....

In seems like you are agreeing with the approach and proud of it. That's pathetic and probably you are cytopathic. WF went too far with making environment toxic for people to leave. Compare Performance to peer and someone has to put down. Relocation strategy. It's a shame to work for WF. Intentionally interview female and diversity candidate to prove their fairness and then offer them position which they were not interviewed for. It's all fishy business. I stopped at lest 10 friends for applying for jobs.

lol efficiency list is a joke and everyone knows it. Why don’t they just name it what it really is…. Have a different thought/idea than the dictators lands you on the “efficiency” list. I am SO happy I finally made the list so I can go somewhere where I don’t feel like I’ve had to sell my soul to the devil to work there. WF is such a horrible company and by far the worst I’ve ever worked for. Horrible ruthless non humans in senior management (with zero leaders). Fu** all of the overpaid executives. Karma is awesome and I hope 1,000 Karma’s on all you worthless pieces of human flesh. The smartest people are those that listened to everyone’s warning and never took a job here to begin with. I regret the day I accepted this job as this company squashes good people and you will walk out of here with less talent than you came with as this place su-ks the life out of anyone it touches. Applicant beware!

Ya'll are nothing but a hamster in a wheel. A hamster keeps working very hard, rotating the wheel rapidly, everyday. But he never gets anywhere. Charlie is the owner of this hamster, keeps laughing at the d-mb hamster. Ya'll are all his pets. Bwahahaha!

It's been proven over and over. At Wells Fargo, the harder you work, the worse you get burned. Hard work is not the answer, you have to know how to play political games well.

I don't need higher income, retirement is close. That's irrelevant though. Let's get back on the actual topic at hand, which is shockingly bad leadership from HY. Their habitual lies and stupid ideas are why people don't care / quiet quit.

Eat a D, OP. The ivory Tower asked for it, and it's exactly what they're going to get. They INTENTIONALLY tanked morale and did things to pi-s off employees to motivate them to leave so they could save on sev expenses. They routinely lie and downsize based on false pretenses, and they continue to whittle away our benefits. Now they are butthurt that employees aren't embracing their stupidity? That we aren't enthusiastic? That we don't care? Not how this works. They su-ked the soul out of this company and fired tens of thousands of people that cared. Now hardly anyone does, and 1000% of the blame lies at the feet of failed leadership.

I won't quiet-quit anymore, I would go aggressive. I would set up traps for my narcissistic manager to fail and get him fired.

The OP is sadly true..everytime I call out something or suggest something..mind you very professional and in no way complaining I get told ...seeing your struggles.. line leading to more micromanagement, lines in PE about not performing to level of peers and not working projects. Then I get projects only to be quiet fired or forced quiet quit.. textbook example of gas-lighting. Readers you have to see the OP as revealing the truth whether we like it or not because it is the strategy of the year to reduce severence. All you who got laid off early were fortunate. Feels a lot like Squid Games to me.

Took me 20 minutes this morning to go through my inbox and do what work I needed to do prepare for the rest of the week.

Now I get to sit back for a few hours, play video games and laugh at the whiny bootlickers until the work I prepped in 30 minutes yesterday needs to be done (literally point and click, gotta love being good at automation).

This is the life.

I've been quiet quitting for almost three years and haven't received negative feedback. So it looks like there's more room for performance reductions.

Your efficiency list is rubbish and I dare you to try and weed me out. Until then, continuing to slack.

It’s not always the quiet quitters getting added to the list. That’s just a talking point. Executives are looking to eliminate anyone with an opinion other than theirs. They feel like that the “efficiency” they keep spouting about.

So don’t mention how bad our technology is or how our processes are cumbersome and convoluted or you will be on the list
