Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

It’s sends more of a message to NOT take the survey.

The lack of participation is what ki-ls them. You could tell them everything is wrong and they will tell you-

“We heard you! You want less chairs because it promotes more physical fitness at work”

But when there is a lack of participation, that’s a lack of engagement. A disengaged workforce is the hallmark of a poorly run company and sign of major culture problems.

They were more concerned on the last survey about participation levels than by what we wrote.

If your boss is ‘forcing’ you to take the survey so their numbers look good, provide all negative feedback and in the fill-in-the-blank portion state: ‘I work in a culture where employees feel pressured to participate in a survey that is supposed to be anonymous and voluntary. This undermines the credibility of the survey and makes employees less likely to provide honest feedback.’”

“ Retired Manager here...Do Not Think that the survey is anonymous....I knew who said what...always“

Active manager here, 30 years.

You never saw a UID attached to a specific survey , and you never saw a list of UIDs showing specifically who did and who didn’t take it. So stop lying .

Now that said, if you know your people, sure you can confidently attribute specific language in the comments to specific people on your team. That’s not the same thing.

This site and others like it ARE the anonymous survey. They have all the info they need. The internal survey is just a loyalty and compliance test for those under 30, and a temperature gauge for the rest of us who they are active trying to get to resign.

“ And stank making the joking comment about we should tie the survey to bonus payout”

It wasn’t a joking comment, he had a whole PowerPoint that showed all the various components that go into calculating our bonus and where we are so far in each category. A small percent was based on the survey results.

“ Just the 1st liners do want you to take the survey because they will get hammered if the survey is bad“”

It’s not just the first line. Every manager up through the VP will get dinged for low engagement. And make no mistake, engagement is the ONLY metric anyone cares about. They don’t care about your ratings or comments. In any capacity.

This is why I’m not taking it.

@de "Because you have no guts to tell them the truth"

Are you really that d-mb. They do nothing with the information except ridicule and demean the employees.

And stank making the joking comment about we should tie the survey to bonus payout . Yeah, that will get everyone to fill it out truthfully

How about the company send a truly anonymous survey so people can be truthful...instead of the B's one they send and next thing you know, someone is calling you or standing by your desk asking why you said the things you said

This company doesn't give a cr-p about anyone. Wait till plano is opened and they want 100% of their operations there.

Since this year our bonus is tied to the survey results, I’m going to refrain from taking it. If I answer honestly, the results aren’t going to be good. So instead of hurting the overall score and thus my bonus, I’m not going to take the survey.

Not taking the survey sends a resignation message.

yeah be careful everyone — posters are correct that not answering is worse for T but if you have a supervisor who seems to be checking — even asking you then so all neutrals…

although honestly not taking it is more negatively impactful to Stank & HR bc they will see a low response rate. BUT responding neutral is next best thing. Just whatever you do, don’t take it seriously — they don’t and already have their “spin” on the results. Don’t take or take and only select neutral answers to give no info. Good luck

Don’t complain on the survey. They work to assess who answered what and then retaliate against you for negative comments.

!!!! ZERO-SUM GAIN !!!!!

Make their survey worthless by throwing neutrals all the way down the list.

It's math, they want to play the A.I. game so bad, you need to make the data in that survey a ZERO-SUM GAIN

You need to take the survey , just throw neutral all the way down. I am dead serious that they knows who don't take it and some of the mid level managers will gladly put you on "The List" ... regardless of what they tell you, those surveys are not anonymous .The best , safest way to monkey wrench it is to be 100% neutral .
