We saw the news. How many would actually post in the PDC? Would love to hear from actual expats who’ve done rotational or permanent.

Venezuela is a $hihole country and not a place someone could enjoy moving to. Heck, most of the Venezuelan expats that moved to the USA, do not want go back there now.

Chevron will need to build a luxury Compound to make Venezuela livable.
Having done both expat residential (with fam)roles and rotational…. I would do rotational (but not residential currently), since rather not put family that situation now… perhaps once things stabilize…
There are many that have been in thr expat circuit but Latin America requires Spanish speaking which disqualifies most expats willing to go who would otherwise qualify for locations such as Africa or Kazakhstan
What an embarrassment for Chevron to be cashing in to the latest crooked move from our Kleptocracy in Washington. History will punish our stupidity for this move.
Minimum mandatory requirement is fluent Spanish - so that knocks out 99%. Better to get a job with CITGO or Haliburton if Venezuela is your dream expat destination.
Since when is engineering done in Houston, hasn't that all be outsourced to engine?
That was the old Chevron. There won’t be many jobs for US folks. Only the well connected.

Very few, if any, will actually go to VEN. I worked in VEN about 10 years ago, but on projects, and only travelled there when needed. Engineering was done by a local but the vast majority of engineeriing done here in Houston. Very few expats are actually allowed in VEN, and really is not needed.
The benefits are huge - 65% premium, hollywood style mansion on the water, armored car and driver. The risks are commensurate. Families not recommended.
