Termination process

What does it really take to get fired here? What's the normal process of termination of an fte? Not laying someone off or cancelling their role, actually terminating their employment because they are a sh1**% POS.

@duo+1genVusr - with the long answer - amazing answer! I've heard it takes 4 offenses from the same warning that all has to be documented, and whenever the employee demonstrates any improvement it resets.

Ummm no idea? Lots of ECMO employees sat on cases and didn’t work them AT ALL and managers didn’t even hold those losers accountable! So instead of getting rid of lazy employees they put all them even hard workers with good QA scores into workforce share to be laid off this year!! Idk bout you but it’s time to go! They aren’t even interested in keeping the good ones who actually did their job so why would they care about firing the lazy ones. SMH

No idea, honestly. I got folks on my team who literally haven't done anything in a year and a half and are still collecting a paycheck. Guess I'm the su---r here

Former manager....it takes forever to fire someone. WF makes you document everything so if you get fired, you won't have any luck getting unemployment. Big CYA or *their a.

it really depends, if you are just a poor performer and your management wants you out it could be a few months otherwise it could be a while. you'll get an informal warning with time to correct then a formal warning with time to correct and then fired. the time between each of those depends on how quickly your manager gathers sufficient evidence. it amazes me that most states are right to work states it takes so long to get rid of someone due to feer of litigation.

there are things that will get you fired immediately. physical violence, threats, misappropriation of funds, etc. have at it and let us know how it works out for you.

  1. New behavior - do whatever action you want to get fired for.
  2. Practice the new behavior a couple random days to judge reaction
  3. Put into effect. Team should start to notice after few weeks, depending on how drastic behavior modification is.

4 after about a month or two of the change, teammates will start to chat amongst selves.

  1. Then it depends on how observant/caring your manager is. Good one will have already seen behavior change and should have talked to you, if not you wait in this stage for someone to talk to manager
  2. They observe for a while. Depending on your status pre-change, they will give you some lee way here. Could be until next review period.
  3. Smart manager would use this time to address the behavior changes. Otherwise maybe a three rating with notes about slippage
  4. should be going on the six month mark here. At this point the manager is making a decision. Allow you more rope or put you on pip. They might try one more desperation pep chat with you.
  5. After about 9 months, or two review cycles you should have something formal marked down. This is assuming your manager is on top of stuff, if not all bets are off. I’ve seen it take people

3 years or more to get to this point. It all depends on your manager(s). Time it right and you can juggle the manager/re-org game for quite some time without ever being noticed.

  1. After making the pip list, your time is formally tracked as an HR case is being built around you. If you decide to stay, you can recover from it, just have to get back to being a high producer. If you don’t care maintain the same and you will have around a year.
