TRUTH!!

This will get censored but there is so much truth to what they are saying. Even if you don't agree with union they all speak FACTS.

That's id--tic. We need a steady stream of income to be effective. Besides, what about the freeloaders that would benefit without contributing? How fair is that?

In theory,, I don't mind unions,, or union dues.. however, one too many times I've been involved in a union that just took dues without doing anything for us.
What I'd like to see is union representation for all workers in a union shop. However, unions should be required to stop collecting any dues.
Instead, they should open accounts on patron or gofundme or something similar. People can then donate what they think it's worth. This way they're rewarded for results and punished for inactivity or failure.
It seems to me to be the fairest way.

@3jdz+1ggfjwmh,
Unionites really do think that way.
I started on the phones and was required to be union. The meetings always had plenty of free coffee and pastries. The first part was union business. They then went on to issues the members needed the union to discuss with the company. The last part was where it got weird. The union reps started talking bad about the company. They listed off everything the company was doing that the union opposed, or were disliked by the unioners. They did this until everyone was worked into a caffeine and sugar driven frenzy. Everyone left ready to destroy company buildings and their inhabitants. It was cultish.
I had to stop going. A lot of eyebrows were raised at that, and I started getting questions that made me uncomfortable. I thank God I got promoted and moved to another office.

During the strike in 2016, somebody got ahold of a number the union rabble were supposed to call for negotiation updates. It was always a recording of this old guy all worked up and crazy. It was all static and distortion. The sp-t splashing on the mic was audible. If there was any info in there, it was lost in the rant. Most of what we could make out was along the lines of "f--- vz, evil this, greedy that, corruption!" It was all just intended to rile all the chubsters up.
It got to a point where we called in every day with everyone gathered around the speaker phone to laugh at it.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the old guy on the recording, @1tdd, @1vzg, @3ykk and @tnv are the same guy. They all use similar rhetoric.
No matter what, they all deserve the same lack of respect.

"Sticking it to big red" is more worthwhile than spending time with our children? Yep... I re-read it... that's exactly what you're saying. That's really twisted. Do you even have souls?

Hmm pay dues to stick it to big red? Yes please. Checkmate can only happen with sacrifices.

I was going to buy a boat so my kids and I could go fishing on my days off this summer. Now I get to pay union dues.... YAAAAAYYYY!! My kids will be so enthused when they get the news.
I'll never get this summer back. I doubt the union will get me something that makes up for that.

Unions are the only way we can directly negotiate with Verizon. I’m sick of the dictatorship. Let’s have some democracy in the workplace!

VZ and CWA/IBEW- two sides to the same coin. Both work together to control us. The only difference is VZ pays us. We pay the union.

Never considered a union until now. I still don't necessarily want one but if its the equivalent of a giant middle finger in upper managements face then I'm all for it. Especially our ceo. We are the new sony Ericsson with this guy running the show.

  1. 75% of my pay is worth sticking it to big red before I venture off to another career, for the long list of ways they completely screwd forntline retail employees over the years.

The NY and NW stores were allowed to unionize because the union bribed execs at verizon using their members warchest.
Unethical use of members funds like this are the reason the union avoids strikes at all costs and why striking members got insufficient support from the union during the last one.
This is why the union keeps extending the current contract despite it's shortcomings.
Think long and hard before you hitch your trailer to them. I wish we had.

The unions had nothing to do with getting rid of the uniform, quite the opposite, they were a big voice in keeping the uniforms for the stores that are currently organized. They take 4.75% of the base pay as dues for their members in those stores currently. Whatever your views, it’s important to understand that they will say or do anything to convince you that they are the answer… for a price. Good luck to all of you.

I'd bet OP is the same person that ends posts with "FACT(S)!!" As if capital letters and exclamation points magically brainwash us into thinking their statements have validity.
They probably burn incense and rub a crystal while typing their posts, too.

Don't you love it how the company phrases it like oh we heard you and listened regarding the denim, fools we've been going on about it since the day came out remember that post on the Verizon homepage, the most commented article ever. Perfect example of the Union working for you. Notice also how the anti-union comments are the ones with upvotes LOL

The union got verizon to change the uniform! I'll gladly pay dues for that. That denim was awful!
