I heard Verizon is trying to reduce overall sales headcount. Every channel, very position. MAMs are still a big priority to eliminate.
If I were in sales i'd join a union. Especially MAMs.
Good luck everyone

" Disgruntled employees been trying to get unions going in verizon for years, but the CWA isn't putting any real effort into it, and the verizon scare tactics are very effective."
Many years ago (5?) Verizon revamped the phone systems in the Retail locations - as a result, Inbound FAXing capability was lost. I always heard that one reason for that was to help thwart Union formation in the stores...
See how well the CWA takes care of AT&T employees on their layoff site and you will see they get the shaft just like everyone else except they have to kick in pay to union fat cats. Sounds like a lose / see scenario.
It’s been partially explained on here before but people in retail are misinformed on how a union works. Unlike landline/wireline each individual store needs to vote on having a union. CWA doesn’t put any real effort into it because of the giant challenge it presents. It’s not impossible and especially given the volatile retail environment it makes sense to have a union at this time. I just don’t think enough retail workers would be on board especially based on employee surveys.
@dkk+19TZvi8U: the latter is especially true. Verizon says unions steal from our pockets while they happily commit wage theft, hire a criminal CEO, and lay off more employees than ever before. it’s hilarious if you think about it.
