Saw it in another post that reminded me about Steve Ellis. We need him back in WF to get us out of the technological rut we are in. There is no strategy or focus in tech.

Steve was entertaining, but despite all the "talk" did not deliver in his "innovation" role. Better off without him.
That finextra article is under their /retail banking heading, I am not sure Steve's org was involved in that. Maybe.
I think Ellis hit 65+ and pretty much needed to leave. If I were him, with all that money, why the hell would I go back to any company vs. enjoying life and surfing.
And quite frankly, Steve had a few feathers in his cap, but plenty of garbage that was allowed in Wholesale.

Didn't he steal USAA's patents and get us in deep trouble, such as over $100MM in patent infringements?

Steve was a good dude. I Deon't think he would touch this steaming pile of Stagecoach droppings with a 10 foot pole.
I met him once right when I started working at WF. He was in the are and came to look at the new office build out. Had no idea at the time who I was shaking hands with because I was just a small fry IT guy. He was dressed in jeans, long hair, looked like any other joe. Super down to earth, so to speak.

Maybe a petition is needed to bring back Steve. Employees should speak up and save the sinking ship
@dgi+17JKmSTC Steve was at wells and was doing the whole Steve Ellis thing, which the suits didn't appreciate. They hated that he was so good at what he was doing while being a surfing hippie.
They essentially forced him into resigning because he wasn't corporate enough for them. He would fix this ship in no time and make it look easier than it should be.
Steve was awesome. Those were the days.

Steve would never work for this disgraced CEO. He’s legit retired, enjoying time split between SoCal and Hawaii.
