Those who are leaving - and based on the posts here there are quite a few of you - help me out, please. How long did it take you to find a job that pays at least somewhat comparable to what we make here? I assume most of you did since I doubt so many people would be accepting jobs with significantly lower pay when they don't have to. Thank you in advance.

I’m sorry, but there is no gentle way to say this. Everybody in San Francisco is making a salary which ranges from 5 to 10 times the equivalent in the heartland, where there is much greater education at all levels. We are all paid in dollars and from that standpoint the San Francisco workers are overpaid 10 to 20 fold. This does not even include any analysis of the greater productivity and education of the heartland.
People... I am only the messenger. I don’t mean to be frightening, I only want to provide perspective. San Francisco is surfing off of the geniuses from the heartland. None of them are at Wells Fargo, except for a few C students at best. Consider moving to the heartland if you have serious skills. The cost of living is far lower.

@uow+19UMR1yy: I have to agree. This company is so backwards that things like "Agile" are a sorry joke. I hear "Leadership" talking about modernizing, but until they shatter the amber all silos are encased in, it's nothing more than a joke.
I was shocked when I start over a year ago that they still used phone bridges. I mean, wow, the 1990's want their tech back...
And now they're rushing to adapt "new" software like ServiceNow and Office365? Best of luck...

It’s not all about money, in fact it has little to do with money. Look at what you are inspired to do and get into that role even with a pay cut. Follow your passion and enough money will inevitably follow.

4 Months. MUCH better manager, team, pay and morale! Keep trying!!
Took about 2 months, but my job search was pretty passive. Got 25% better salary, more time off, much better company culture and leadership.
Took me about 4 months or so and a similar position in risk management. Better benefits package and about a 25% base pay increase.
100 calls or emails from recruiters a day does not mean you will get a great job with good pay. Recruiters call and email everyone even those who are not qualified.
Mortgage underwriter here. I get at least 5 recruiters email me a week for new roles. All remote.
You have to realize just how overpaid the jobs are in San Fran. Cost of living is just out of sight. Wells pay is just phenomenal but Schart is smart and knows that these jobs can go literally anywhere and far cheaper. I think that in Financial Services the cost of banker jobs is simply totally out of line with the value.
Not so for tech jobs in banking... those will survive although much will go offshore.
- 5 months and still looking. Plenty of offers that pay 50% to 60% less.

How long did it take? I still havent seen the stimulus check while on the news everyone seems to already have received it.

I have current tech skills too now, and pretty much doubled my wf salary, plus stock options 100k given. What a deal! Permanent remote!

30 miles or 30 minutes.
all the ones I found were remote so all over the country, not that hard if you have cloud or current skills experience. Took about 2 weeks for multiple higher paying full time offers. Companies are desperate for a workforce in tech with current skills. Tech skills like here are not current and would not be the right ones, so just study current areas and try to apply in your job here so you are now experienced in it.
