With the new RTO tracking being through IP and not swipes, has anyone heard anything about if changing location from hub to branch would be an option? The excuse used to be that it couldn’t be tracked.

You all laugh but it would not surprise me if they started installing cameras and watch employees, and use AI to track the sentiment of employees facial expression. Seems far fetched to you? I was in a meeting with people from Dominic's area a while back where some internal "research" team was seriously looking into using cameras in branchs and AI facial recognition to scan customer faces to see their sentiment. In other words, come in mad, leave happy. I am not joking. I hope someone smacked his researchers around to knock some sense into them with this cr------d idea. Those "UX Agile AI" people in Dominics area are "interesting"
@dc ty for the laugh. That’s about all I can do now.
@bh The "Strategic Goal" here as said by our beloved CEO is that you are to RTO to "make friends". Never said anything about walking through the front door so as long as you and others hang out in the parking lot it should be fine.
@dj "On day 4 I got called into the office and was told (illegally) to decline my 401k matching and healthcare because I made too much money and my wife had health coverage."
The nerve of those ba----ds! Fortune 500 or a mom and pop shop, every CEO seems to think law does not apply to them until they FAFO. Hope they went out of business.
@dc This reminds me of something that actually happened to me.
I worked for a company many years ago that would make you PIN code into the phone at your desk. They said it was in case a call came in for you the receptionist would know you were in. But it was also used as a time tracker. You were expected to be in your cubicle 8 hours minimum. You needed to sign out of your desk phone to even use the bathroom. The CEO would regularly come around and check that people were at their desks if signed in. Meetings? Nope, doesn't count because they did not provide value to the company, but were still required. On day 4 I got called into the office and was told (illegally) to decline my 401k matching and healthcare because I made too much money and my wife had health coverage. Didn't come back for day 5 and reported them to 2 different state and federal agencies.
I have a few other horror stories from those 4 days, but I'll leave it there.
Nextmonth, Gunjan and the SEVP of HR are considering a NEW approach to track RTO (It is the number of minutes employee chairs stick to Office chair watching monitor and excludes coffe breaks and rest room breaks).
The underlying motive for this change is to encourage voluntary resignations among employees, thereby facilitating their transition to roles in India.
This strategic move is aimed at achieving cost savings, which in turn is expected to positively impact the company's stock price and enhance the value of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) for the executive suite, which is substantial in magnitude ($5-10Million if the stock goes up by 100% to them)
@ad Wait could I connect to the WiFi for a branch from their parking lot, it's closer than my f'ing hub lol
I was able to get my laptop to immediately jump onto the WiFi at the branch, the question is - Is it IP based or Location based using Workday and access point(s) you connect to? Or just "On the internal network"?
