Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

CSO NC Bound

I heard an email was sent out notifying the New Jersey teams that they’re expected to relocate to the new North Carolina office by the end of the year.

@ay expiring leases will be renewed. We learned the hard way in Plano. If they want us there, the space will be acquired. Not enough space. Just enough space to make you uncomfortable enough to quit for fear of losing your last shred of sanity.

@hm

He also thinks that 30% of the workforce will be out of the office on any given day to allow for enough seats.

CSO recently had a survey concurrent with the company one. Probably all the "yankee mentality" anonymous results came out and the response is that Middletown doesn't su-k up enough to Baich for his liking.

Legg told Middletown will stay a Hub.

And you believe everything Legg says? He also said nobody would be forced to relocate. It would all be handled by attrition. I guess his attrition is telling people to move or be fired?

Also, Middletown has more than CSO, doesn't mean they'll keep every organization there. But they are craming 5 buildings worth of people into 1 so it wouldn't be surprising if some parts shut down and get moved out. Shutting down Middletown would also bring to light all the H1B visa holders currently there.

Didn't see the email but heard someone leak that they intend for no new hires in CSO except Charlotte. Job postings pretty much confirm that. Also further confirms being close to your team and having too many locations was just BS if they are stocking up in a new location. As someone else already pointed out, almost all current CSO leadership has some connection to Charlotte so not surprising with all the nepotism at T, that they chose that location.

As someone in CSO, we were told all new hires are in Charlotte. Baich and all his cronies that he brought over from Wells Fargo and AIG (two loosers in cyber security for their customers) have Charlotte connections. His deputy ciso Hamilton told us his wife didn't want to leave Charlotte.

Writing is on the wall that they want to call charlotte a "center of excellence" because of all the Baich cronies who want to move back there. They are using the center of excellence monikor to get around the hub thing. Seems he's targeting the cyber security part of cso first because they think network security is simply as network security and can be done by looking at logs and that's all the did at those former places they are from.

@d3 Yankee rudeness is very real. Please keep it north of the Mason-Dixon.

Nope, Southerners are just as rude but you folks just say it with a smile and a giggle. We keep it real here in the North. No phoniness or pretense so you always know where you stand with a Northerner.

@da

Have you not been paying attention? There are 77 current listings in Cybersecurity; 50 of them are Charlotte, NC. There have also been several posts on here about Baich wanting to pull things into Charlotte, with space projected to be ready beginning of next year.

I’ll bet you any amount of money that CSO under Baich will not be moving to NC.

They have a large presence in Middletown and just built a brand new area in a site that’s been declared a hub since day 1.

NC is being shut down, clown.

@ce Charlotte barely has any space available, high housing and energy cost as Duke has a monopoly over power and gas. Traffic su-ks too.

There is Chief Security Office or Customer Service & Operations.

NJ has two of T hubs. But taxes are bad combined with yankee rudeness would be a good reason anywhere else besides the over crowded Atlanta and Dallas.

Where in NC could we land?

NC is very business friendly, right to work state. Finding a desk will be tough as many sites are closing down for good due to expiring leases. The larger sites are already at or near capacity. Also as a FYI NJ is likely a N3 for pay scale while there are very few locations in NC that are a N2 as most are N1.

Hate to ask for clarification, but people use CSO for CS&O.
Is this CSO under Legg?
