Facing a dangerous cold snap that will impact most of the HCSC offices, not a single message was sent from anyone that said “you know what, because we value your health and safety, don’t worry about badging in on Friday. Your wellbeing is our more important to us than checking a box or monitoring your whereabouts.”

Many offices got notifications the day prior. If you didn’t then the weather wasn’t impacting your area during working hours. I manage employees in different areas, and I got emails letting me know about the notifications they all received.
@d8 because I imagine most people had already made the decision to stay home regardless of whether they would be penalized for it. It would have been nice to receive a message from an actual person rather than an “amber alert” style text. But maybe some of you have never worked at healthy organizations to expect competent, compassionate leaders
I’m in a state where employees got our notifications last night. Maybe you’re upset that the weather isn’t cold enough in your state today to warrant people working from home?
So now that we have received such a message, we must infer that they do care about us?
How is 6.30pm the night before “too late to be useful”?

Chicago public schools are closed ! Please nobody go in the office tomorrow!!! Stay home!!! They can't fire us ALL!
Don't worry, Maurice and Shannon will be in Chicago because, being that we are the most ethical company in the universe, they need to be there 3 days this week and Monday was a holiday.
