They told me that as long as paperwork supports it, they will accommodate it. However during recertification, when someone else on the team gets the request, they can then decide if it can be accommodated or not. Even if it was approved before and you have submitted updated medical documentation, was mentioned that they at anytime can contact the medical provider and tell them they will no longer support it even if the the provider says its a lifelong and permanent condition. Something too about that mileage isnt covered anymore and accommodations are separate from location strategy. Which doesn't make sense to me. I thought I seen something floating around that there isn't a mileage rule and that all accommodations will be honored....Feels like I'm not getting the full story here.
Then once an accommodation would expire, one would have to commute anyways despite medical issues. At that point subject to rto policies.
I think I'm sc--wed now, I hope not. i feel so sick thinking about it, I should have spoke to more people to get further clarification because of what they told me. Should I see if i can reapply? I have been there for a number of years with decent severance package...
But I don't want to leave if I don't have to. I realize finding a full time remote job is going to be hard. Or a comparble job will be hard to find but.... can't make that drive due to ongoing medical issues, by having an accommodation this would have allowed me too. I think I may call them on Monday and talk to someone else for a second opinion, and an email followup.
