Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

No raise? No Bonus? Thinking about quiet quitting?

Before you make any big decisions, let me share something that might take the sting out of it a little: Guild Education. Chase offers employees the chance to pursue degrees—undergrad, grad, and more—with partial or full coverage (I was a mediocre student and didn't expect to qualify, to my surprise my degree has cost me $0). And no, it’s not reimbursement—you’re not paying upfront. I’ve been using Guild for the last two years to work on my Business Finance degree, and honestly, it’s been amazing. It’s something I probably wouldn’t have done if it wasn’t free and offered internally.

If you’re feeling frustrated or stuck, why not invest in yourself? There are tons of well-known schools partnered with Guild, and this benefit can help you build a foundation for whatever’s next. Just a thought to turn that “ugh” into action. Cheers to leveling up, even if everything else feels like a letdown! Don't let the company dictate your future, eat up all their resources before you abandon sh-t. Just my opinion. - Cheers!

The education benefit is nice, and I am taking advantage of it. However, you have to realize that if:

  1. You leave the firm within 1 year of payment/reimbursement of a course, you will be required to repay 100% of the tuition funding.
  2. If you leave the company within 2 years of payment/reimbursement of a course, you will be required to repay 50% of the tuition funding.

This is not explained very well during the sign-up process. Depending on how many courses you take, you could end up owing the company A LOT of money if you decide to leave on your own.
