Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Bold startegy

Rawool not even hiding it anymore, the new "President ai and innovation" was his intern out of college! Surely this has everything to do with competence and nothing to do with placing your own people to high paid positions while people who have dedicated their lives to this place get nothing. The jokes write themselves.

@d6 remember feeling your GF how impressed you were. I can't tell if you are an intern or trolling. Where in her experience is she ready to lead the organization. I'll wait.

This appointment may be the best of all….. zero experience and sharp as a spoon. Ask yourself how she would ever compete with the AI leads at our competitors… how will our partners view her and us after a 10 minute conversation….. absolutely comical. Wonder how she got the gig???

I do not see this appointment as only a decision about one person. I see it as a clear sign that DXC is not serious enough about AI. If AI is truly a major part of the company’s future, the person leading this effort must have a proven record in AI and large scale business transformation. The lack of a strong and visible background in these areas shows that DXC did not make these main requirement for this role and instead placed greater value on existing relationships.

This decision confirms that DXC does not have a strong and credible AI plan. A serious AI strategy requires much more than a new leadership title and public statements. Without those foundations, AI becomes a message used to create the appearance of innovation rather than a true transformation.

Based on this direction, I believe DXC will continue to struggle and waste its resources while competitors build those AI capabilities, hire experienced AI leaders and create new solutions. This is DXC's track record, it has consistently relied on announcements and leadership changes instead of building the capabilities needed to compete in the market.

This is one of the most unforgiving moments in the history of the technology industry. AI offers DXC a small but critical opportunity to change course and DXC is wasting it by relying on inexperienced amateurs.

While we peasants are reminded through our code of conduct training that granting business to friends, associates or family is considered a conflict of interest, but when a CEO hires an associate it is not a conflict of interest. Oh, the irony.

Rules for thee but not for me...

I listened to Holly speak on an AI call over a year ago and remembering commenting to my GF how impressed I was with her. She seems sharp and engaged.

People like to work with others that they trust. I'll file the intern talk in the same bin as I do the other misogynistic comments this board is fond of.

According to LinkedIn, she did work as an executive at another company after doing internship. So she does have several years experience prior to joining Dxc. Not directly going from internship to Dxc leadership.

The Fernandez Group (7 yrs 9 mos)
Washington DC–Baltimore Area

Deputy to Raul Fernandez
Jun 2010 – Apr 2016 · 5 yrs 11 mos

I supported Raul Fernandez in running, growing, and investing in companies.
Raul Fernandez is Vice Chairman and Owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, a private partnership which owns the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, the WNBA's Washington Mystics, the AFL's Washington Valor and Baltimore Brigade, and owns and operates the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. Mr. Fernandez also serves as a special advisor to General Atlantic Partners, a growth equity firm with more than $8 billion under management. He previously served as Chairman and CEO for ObjectVideo, a leading developer of intelligent video surveillance software, which he recently sold to Alarm.com. Mr. Fernandez brings more than two decades of executive experience scaling innovative and rapidly growing technology companies.

Its such a shame she couldn't even use AI to get a abstract of routine duties or tasks she performed as an intern rather than ego boast Raul in the description. Or maybe, she cannot tell her routine duties out in the public.

@a8 her LinkedIn experience clearly states she worked as an intern at the Fernandez group directly reporting to Raul Fernandez. I knew people kiss a s s for work, but never had examples. Now I know two working and reporting directly under DXC CEO.
