Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Bonus

Did anyone else not get a bonus or just me? I was told its bc I didn’t make any extra contributions but I thought this was based on performance and meeting metrics. Bummer as this is what motivates me so now i’ll be doing the absolute bare minimum this company is draining and managers just come up with their own little rules. Band 1 employee

@52, oof, people do say some d-mb things, and while bonus is never a guarantee, it's certainly not a gift either. It is for performance. Poor choice of words on her part.

When I worked for Cigna, I had a manager inform the team that bonus is a gift not a guarantee. Such a horrible thing to say. Whereas I thought it was based on performance.

I got a 4% raise + salary adjustment + bonus @ 104% of target. High Band 3

The lack of bonuses and pay increases is Cigna’s way of getting people to voluntarily quit so they don’t have to pay out severance packages during the next round of layoffs.

Yes - got rated a 2 for kind of the same reason. Got a 1% raise and no bonus. Felt completely caught off guard. Had no clue this was coming. I couldn’t believe it was $0 like how is that possible when I show up and have done everything asked of me and more

I had my meeting but Friday is the pay out. It is based on performance and there is only so much money for your specific team. It's always a competition.

I was JE on 2/19, called ESS to see if they had any bonus info. They said we should get an email with that info by 3/10. If you don’t call ESS and they should have.that info. Hope this info helps!

@OP I didn't get a bonus either. They said it was because I was lower in my stats than my coworkers. I'm currently looking outside the company for a new job,

If you were JEd, have you received an email with a bonus? I have not yet.

@ch My org definitely had favoritism. The Band 4 who was the biggest liar and gossip did not get laid off and likely is getting a good bonus just because they are in REAL good with toxic leaders.

@a4 whether you make a high wage or low wage, to me, doesn’t mean someone is more deserving of a bonus. If you are eligible for a bonus then I think you should get it regardless of wage. The bonus is mainly how the company performed and your contributions to those goals. It does not have content about going above and beyond or how you went the extra mile to help the company. I think what this individual is experiencing is a bad manager. They either have favorites on the team which then they got the bonus or more and/or they just don’t like the employee and are hoping to make it unpleasant to work here aka push them out.

I'm so sorry to hear this and it actually enrages that most of the people getting bonuses already have a high base. If anyone deserves a bonus it's you. You are a frontline employee mostly likely and working hard. I for one thank you for your contributions and you deserve better.
