Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Resignation and scheduled vacation

Is one required to work out their 2 week notice if they have scheduled pto that has already been approved? I resigned today with notice but my leader says that I'm required to work out my 2 weeks and that vacation will need to be cancelled.

@e1 I have always had a good employee record which includes rehirable status. The environment became unbearable in my current role.

@d1 I would simply enjoy your vacation. This sounds like someone who will make you no rehire, no matter what. You're moving on, leave Humana in the rearview and enjoy the life in front of you.

Good luck and have a good time!

@ce hes states i will be non rehirable. I could work out the 2 week notice and not go on vacation and he could still make me non rehirable. He's just playing games. I am so over this place

@c1 thank you. Yes I plan on taking my scheduled approved pto and then working the week after. If I cancelled my trip and worked out my 2 weeks there is still no guarantee that he would list me as rehirable. He is not happy about me leaving

If manger already approved PTO, you do not have to cancel it.

It’s your manager’s discretion with whether to authorize PTO. Sounds like your manager is being a PITA.

If your manager decides to let you take PTO, you’d need to work on your last day before leaving Humana. Then you’ll be in the clear.

Call HR4U or look at the PTO policy in the associate support center for more info. Hope this helps.

@bq I've been offered a new position. Timing wasn't the best. I would still be here if it wasn't for the way I have been unfairly treated

You just won't be able to be rehired is my understanding , but if you go to go/asc and search "leaving Humana", it will bring up all policies related to it. I know cause I may resign also and I asked HR a few Qs and they gave that instruction in the response email.

Why would you resign if you had PTO within the 2 week period? Probably should have given your 2 weeks notice after vacation
