Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Any layoff chatter ?

It’s been awfully quiet on this discussion board. Guess all the hype about early retirement and layoffs has died down?

I’m sorry, I thought someone posted EAP folks got RIF and then the post was for Digital Health

DH&A has nothing to do with EAP. It means that DH&A (digital health and analytics) was disassembled and the various teams moved into different parts of the organization. With this change several leaders will be departing.

Isn’t that the Boston group?

DH &A vertical? What is that? Does that mean some EAP were shuffled and not laid off?

The whole DH&A vertical is moved under other businesses now. Some leaders are gone.

Unfortunately I agree that is the Humana way. I’ve seen it happen many many times. Try not to take it personal because it’s not. It’s all about money. You guys have supported us through very difficult times and we all appreciate it. Best of luck and take this as a blessing and move on. Time to make lemonade out of lemons. Thank you again for all your support you’ve given us. Humana management may not care but we do.

I say that they gave all Humana EAP counselors their 60 notice yesterday. They have a new EAP vendor Lifeworks but did not facilitate in attempting to find positions at LifeWorks or within Humana Behavioral Health. They just notified with the advice of apply where ever you like. They also just published on the Humana Hi! page the amazing new collaborative merger between Humana and LifeWorks EAP with an expanded network of providers ... yet no mention of how they laid off their entire existing EAP department of licensed therapists. Really classy

What makes you say that? Last I heard (a few weeks ago) they increased EAP benefits. Not to mention they have been advocating EAP for folks after the recent public crises (mass shootings).

When you say cut their EAP program do you mean they had a reduction in force?

@3jge+1gRfzThI Proof that humana are tone deaf. Members have been telling them for over 10 years that they don't want to interact with an automated call. People want to interact with humans. They do not and will not listen. the next step is to rig a survey with biased questions which prove to them that members want more technology.

For our younger members between 65 and 75 this may work but the older members will not be able to handle the technology. That’s my experience with referring people to MDLive

Maybe not, they did that pilot to connect with people via text in real time and that didn’t go very far

One solution we are testing in 2022 is care doc coach. We are partnering with this vendor that provides engaged members With tools needed to communicate with an interactive avatar. The care doc coach avatar service as a face for a custom home recovery support experience by engaging and empowering members in their post discharge recovery while providing compassionate 24 seven social emotional emotional support. Testing will begin on 5/23 with a small group and 61 with a broader group getting offered the program.

So looks like there’s trouble ahead for telephonic management nurses and social workers at Humana

I don’t think Author got them $1B. It’s pretty clear from recent town halls that they are still working on cuts.
