Without Trolling, are there areas that are notoriously safer than others?
Like Home, Auto and Retail are getting hit probably the most but what about CIB Middle office or DMI or even Credit Risk?

Auto has been FUBAR for some time. I’ve seen some internal data that we’re trying to dump the Irvine lease and can what’s left of the debris. I’m sure there are openings at some La Habra used car lots
CIB MO is one of the safest places to be from involuntary job cuts. CIB MO has been historically lean compared to its peers.
If you were on a team that generates revenue for the company, historically you were the safest from budget cuts in general. At least in my experience.
The further away you are from client facing activities, the more worried you should be. You are safest if you are client facing, top producer, and have a solid reputation internally.
@cqh+16abWZjI I am right there with you. Being asked to do things to my staff that make me want shower with a wire brush. Have to get out of this company – it's toxic and has lost any shred of humanity.
Be honest with employees. Take accountability for the real reason WF is undergoing massive layoffs.
Don't use underhanded tactics to terminate employees. Just because something is legal (or appears to be) doesn't mean it's ethical or moral.
What do you consider knowledge areas?
Honestly the only people safe are going to be the people in the knowledge areas. If you are a generic paper pusher then it will not matter. The issue is going to be if they layoff SMART or layoff to create the most chaos. Sadly I think it will the latter. I think the red tape will get worse and less will get done. I think the high performers will abandon ship even in this economy.
Me personally I had to just give BS ratings to a team of high performers and I cannot stop vomitting. The safest place to be is to be a SME with a few box checked. I have been here 15+ years and always been a high performer and currently I cannot look at myself in the mirror. Welcome to Wells Fargo.
I am looking for a demotion type of job in or out to ride into the sunset. Not all managers are jerks, I love my team and always tried to do what's best. I wish I could take a shower right now that could make me feel clean. Everything the Mellonites and Chasers said is true. And possibly it is worse.
