Questions to be asked on the layoff call

I feel it is what it is. The severence rules are laid out. Is there anything specific you should ask?

Yeah this! I had a layoff call and it was script reading and goodbye. All less than 3 minutes.

no, it's mostly just to answer your COBRA questions or whatever else. it's a waste of time, otherwise. skip it if you prefer.

@cq.. they will tell you nothing. Period.. they'll incur liability otherwise. Think they care about anything other than that, your feelings, perspective, peace of mind?
Nope
Good luck

I’ll ask how was I was picked when others in my teammate not? Performance-based, tenure-based, salary-based, bias-based? They should have a criteria and not a random selection ftom the magic hat.

I had a layoff meeting, not a call in 2023. HR not in the room. The person laying you off will be reading from a script, and are instructed by HR not to deviate from the script. Best to go in, take your medicine, grab your stuff and walk out the door.
